In re-reviewing our recent interview with Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann, we have found several significant errors and inaccuracies that don't represent his perspective and values (including topics such as animation, writing, technology, AI, and future projects). We apologize to Neil for misrepresenting his words and for any negative impact this interview might have caused him and his team. In coordination with Naughty Dog and SIE, we have removed the interview.

Here's some context from GameDeveloper:

It appears Druckmann never claimed his next project would "redefine mainstream perceptions of gaming," but Sony went ahead and slapped that juicy quote into the exchange anyway.

Incredible lmao

Lmao. Sony PR taking a huge L.
I imagine Druckmann was "allowed" to call out the "redefining gaming" part but not the AI bits.
Which makes sense, because that bit is part a much of a larger corporate strategy several levels above him that touches multiple departments.

If Sony had decent leadership their entire PR department would be fired and replaced by competent people. They have been impressively incompetent for many years, they are the second largest company in Japan and yet come off as amateurs all the time.

sony are borderline nearing xbox stupidity lately i dont know whats going on in there
People say how PS strategy of porting games to PC is smart because in the short term it brings minimal profit & short term growth at the cost of Sony own platform & storefront. And that Sony knows best yet as history shows Sony has a long history of making mistakes.

PS following Xbox after Xbox imploded, nice

When they should be following Nintendo, Steam, Apple, Netflix.

I really do have to question if buying Paramount for 26 billion for ip is worth it. Is TMNT, SpongeBob, Tom Cruise/MIP worth 26 billion? And yes they would own the Sonic & Transformer movie rights but those ip aren’t owned by Paramount so Sega & Hasbro after the movie license deal ends can look at other partners & squeeze Sony for larger investment. Plus they would ultimately have to acquire Hasbro & Sega if they full wanted to expand ip/ make products outside movie which would require even more billions to the point you could’ve just bought WB & own stronger ip with bigger potential or save for other ip that would cost much less

Seems like Sony's current leadership had their leadership training somewhere close to Seattle.
Well their gaming headquarters is located in California the U.S biggest jokes of a state along with Microsoft so they're probably taking advice from those that live there. If Sony was smart they pull out back to Japan. You're either filthy rich in that state or living in shacks or on the streets there.
