There's gonna be some fancy tech. That will upset Pc weirdo's that I do know.

That isize acquisition just went under the radar. Im assuming the pro if it has extra anything. It will just be used for task processing.

Look forward to what they cook up.

Some sort of frame generation from 30 to 60 and from 60 to 120 would be very interesting and would explain why they didn't bother too much with the CPU.

I never used it on my PC to know if it's actually any good but people praise NVidia for it.
Frame generation for true next gen on top of the scaling tech in the pro will be beautiful to behold.

Hardware stagnated.
Platforms choosing performance over quality.

Sadly times for us gamers.
Not at all. PS5 owners are the ones currently choosing between performance and quality, Pro owner won't have to compromise they'll just bet both.

Happy times for us gamers ✌

Definitely hope it's system level...

For ppl tht don't know AFMF is..

AMD Fluid Motion Frames

To put it simply, AFMF adds frame generation technology to boost FPS outside of the game's engine. Often the results double the FPS of the game because it works at the driver level instead of the game/software level.
Explanation below

I wouldn't mind if PS5 games started to focus on 1080p/60 as the standard, trying to chase native 4K was always stupid.

If there is one thing the PS5 was missing was it's own DLSS like technology to move us away from rendering things nativelly.

i still prefer games to be 4k30fps with most advanced graphical settings.

Most advanced graphics will never be achieved with native 4K and 30fps, you need to move on from that mindset and get on with the times.

You seem way too attached to specs, when all that matters are the results. Who cares what the internal resolution is if the end result is a much more impressive image?

Idk if its just me but I do not notice the diff between 30/60 fps in terms of smoothness but when I do put 60fps modes on, games tend to look better to me although the fidelity mode is obviously higher graphical fidelity.

Can anyone explain why this happens to me?

i didn't mean native, don't be absurd. if 1800p30fps becomes 1440p60fps, i would like to get 1800p30fps.
to have 2 modes to choose from. choice matters.

Complete nonsense, you would never pick that in a blind test where you did not know in advance how either were running.

i can easily pick it. if no one would ever know, devs never would do performance/quality modes. what are you talking about?

We're going to need new TV's again for PS6 if you want to play 4k120 fps

They are updating hdmi 2.1 to hdmi 2.1b

I think it's time to reevaluate the cost of console gaming, every new gen we now have to upgrade our TV's to take full advantage of what the consoles offer. It's no longer just $500/600 for a console box, throw about a grand on top of that for a new TV.

The true generational leap will be seen when a game is made to run at 1080p 30. Just like PS4 games were. So far I don't think we have seen that.

So you are saying you would easily pick 4K reconstructed from 1440p from 4K reconstructed from 1800p and that the difference would be so significant that you would let go of half your frames? Bullshit.

The true generational leap will be seen when a game is made to run at 1080p 30. Just like PS4 games were. So far I don't think we have seen that.
Then on top of that you add reconstruction to 4K and frame generation to double the frames.

I did a "how much money have you spent on gaming this gen" thread and sure enough I added $1,200 for my new TV lol

No, those are 4K60 8K30 1080p 120, you need the new spec hdmi 2.1b for 4K120 or 8K60
sony made graphics modes for 40fps who has 120hz tvs in 2021 and tvs supporter that before that.

HDMI 2.1 has 42.6 Gbit/s passthrough. for 4k120 you need 32.27 Gbit/s.

I'm just now getting a 120hz tv for my PS5 and I'll get a newer tv in 4 years when PS6 arrives so I can play at 4k120
Yeah I have three 4k tvs and right now I can't justify getting another but I do want another up to date one which I'll probably buy when PS6 gets released. I also have an optoma projector I want to upgrade to a 4K version eventually.
