Sony's future and possible studio/publisher acquisitions

I can't remember if I said this already.. I don't keep track of my own comments, but, I'm surprised Remedy hasn't been purchased (or considered, at least over Bungie). The type of games they make, and their location in Europe, seems like a good investment for Playstation.
And, of course, either Capcom and/or Square Enix.

If PS is really that keen on keeping up with PC, Creative Assembly, Relic Entertainment, etc. could work.
But, I would suggest Hermen appoint a new executive member to manage the PC portfolio.

Well they have to make games that people actually buy lol , Sony would have been better off keeping japan studio if they want middling 1-2 million sales like remedy games

Coming to Square, They always made their best FF games when they partner with Sony.

Has anyone else noticed Sony kind of isnt good at closing acquition deals? There was a rumor that they wanted tenfo games (warframe developers) but go outbid by tencent. Recently wanted that Anime online website but got outspent by blackstone. The paramount deal as well. I wonder if the rumors of SE were actually true but sony couldnt close the deal with them too?

I doubt it's a matter of them being bad at closing it feels more like they had to take a breather to weigh the profit to loss ratio and determine whether it was worth it or not. Tencent could easily outbid them as for the anime site they have more then enough of that. They have Aniplex, Funimation now transferred to Crunchyroll. They have a solid holding for those. Hidive is slowly killing itself and Disney would be the only competitor they have.

The rumours were true to be accurate. Remember the big building in Shibuya, where Square Enix intended to buy it and reallocate their HQ to? Now they are only renting a couple of offices within the building and will stay at their current HQ in cheap Shinjuku. The chatter is Matsuda wanted to sell to Sony but there were some board members who plotted not to sell. That's why they installed Kiryuu who ultimately put an end to this ambition. But I think Kiryuu will screw up ultimately and then when the right times occur, Sony will try again with another offer.

Interest rates are going down and when they are low enough we are going to see some buyouts again probably.

Networth currently is 32 Billion.

I know but I still think sony will acquire epic and make it there pc launcher
Also Sony and epic have a very close business relationship
And Sony will let epic handle all the gaas stuff imo

Sony got a sour taste in their mouth after Bungie. Xbox got dismantled because of Bethesda + ACT/Blizz. I doubt Sony is thrilled to do any further big acquisitions. Japanese studios won't sell if they're not going for bankruptcy. It's a matter of pride.
