Xbox is becoming even more irrelevant to publishers now that they'll cut physical copies, the sales that are already low due to smaller install base are getting even worse, that solidifies PlayStation as the only high end console platform to offer a physical option for gamers, on PlayStation (40%) and Nintendo (50%) platforms physical represents 90% of the entirety of the physical market in the US, in the Insomniac leaks, we saw Digital vs Physical attatch rate for PlayStation first party and PHYSICAL REPRESENTS THE MAJORITY of the sales
some examples for current gen (PS5) games:
Demon's Souls: 30% Digital, 70% Physical
Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart: 24% Digital, 76% Physical
Spiderman Miles Morales: 34% Digital, 66% Physical
Sackboy a Big Adventure: 23% Digital, 77% Physical
it's clear the Physical format on PlayStation is not going anywhere, the PS6 will have a disc drive option, and if physical sales remain strong, the PS7 will have it too
