The basic salary for full-time employees will be increased by an average of 10%, including the base increase. As for the starting salary of new graduates, there will be an average increase of 27% (288,000 yen) for four-year university graduates.

We believe that an environment where each employee can demonstrate maximum creativity with peace of mind is essential for sustainable growth, and we have introduced various measures than before. As one of these measures, this basic salary increase is to create an environment where employees can continue to focus on creating attractive content even when external factors fluctuate such as soaring prices, and also expect to strengthen the acquisition of new excellent human resources. It will be implemented as a measure.

They "had" to do it, the yen has lost 20 percent of its value post-March 2020. And thats just against the dollar, which is itself losing value against physical goods.

thank goodness they did not go the route of the other big companies and let go a bunch of people,

I think I saw a headline a few days ago with Meta firing another thousand or ten thousand people.
