This game is going to break resetera and for that alone it should be GOTY. We are getting a 2 for 1 combo of resetera and xbots seething whereas with FF7 rebirth only the xbots were seething, Stellar Blade should win because of that :ROFLMAO: . Jokes aside I hope this game at least wins action game of the year

It's nice that some player metrics are finally being divulged on PlayStation's side, at least for a few games. I mean like actual numbers, BTW.

Steam gets away all too often with the impression it's the only platform with big player bases because player metrics are openly available, and the media runs with it (this has been weaponized for things like pushing other companies, even those like Sony, to go "all in" on PC (Steam) with Day 1 support).

Sony have to realize that while they are more indirect platforms, things like Steam are still competing for a lot of similar players and therefore playing time and dollars. Making player metrics for games more openly available (or at least openly available for people with the platform) is a good step to take seeing as how that can also fuel WOM and lead to engagement growth (which can lead to increased sales & revenue/profits). If a publisher doesn't like that idea, it's their problem.

I hope things like Microsoft wanting to hide/obfuscate Xbox player metric data due to dwindling activity on their console, hasn't influenced Sony to obfuscate their own.

"Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Rise of the Ronin were just two new additions to the genre in March, garnering upwards of 2m monthly active users (MAUs) and just shy of 1m MAUs respectively according to Ampere’s Games Analytics data;"

"Daily active user numbers for the Stellar Blade demo, which launched at the end of March, have more than doubled those seen for the FFVII Rebirth demo. The chart demonstrates a launch performance which would match that of FFVII Rebirth; but this is perhaps a best-case scenario. The hype surrounding Stellar Blade – largely focused on its character models - may have resulted in inflated interest in the demo, and the rate of conversion to paying, launch users could fall short of what we have seen for its competitors."

"Despite some similarities in genre, style, and therefore potential audience, Stellar Blade and FFVII Rebirth represent quite different commercial cases. FFVII Rebirth is based on an established classic with a deep-rooted fandom – plus, it is a sequel, rather than a standalone game. It is therefore unlikely that quite as many demo players were drawn simply by curiosity or hype, and conversion in that case is likely to be more predictable, and hearty. Stellar Blade, on the other hand, is a brand-new IP with no pre-existing fandom, making its performance a great deal more difficult to project."

Seems Eve caused Adam's bar to get longer than happened to Cloud with Tifa.
