Trails, Dragon Quest, Ys(played just one), Fire Emblem, Atelier, Octopath...
If you aren't opposed to playing PC, you could get an old school game like Farland Saga 1&2 with fan-translated english patches.

Trails is kinda...long winded. I only played the first two though, they were decent enough but the gfx are a little amateurish. I'd recommend Atelier even if you don't like crafting or cooking; I don't usually like those types of games but for some reason the Atelier games hooked me. Octopath is decent, the graphics and music are excellent but I found the combat to become a bit repetitive. 2nd game is much better though.

Oh. And as for old school games. Grandia 1&2. Both are great ATB-based games with some tactical repositioning, have a lot of charm in their characters. Visuals are outdated but I still like them.

I was gonna mention Grandia but thought then I can start mentioning loads then.
I recently played it on PS5. Because I owned it on PS3, it was a free download

Grandia was perfection in 199x.
I can’t not praise it enough… probably one if not the best JRPG I played on PlayStation… it is either Grandia, Xenogears or Vagrant Story to me.

I thought this was confined to the Switch, can't believe I missed it releasing everywhere else finally.
The original game is only Switch.
Vengeance released in every place.

BTW in Persona and SMT I always await the titled versions… they are always way better than originals release.

One of my all time favs, even if it's on the easier side of things.

The upper part of the list, I've only played Sea of Stars, others are pretty unknown to me.

From the lower part of the list DQ, Atelier,Octopath are definitely contenders...
