Hoping they don't nominate Shadow of Erdtree. Great DLC but to say 2022's GOTY is also 2024's GOTY tells me you have bad taste in games and should try new things rather than just glaze FROM. they have been well praised for over a decade now, other studios deserve that shine too.

Calling it now, Metaphor will win GOTY. Everyone there knows FF7 deserves it but its not multiplatform therefore we have to make the losing side feel apart of the conversation.

Elden Junk is for sure gonna be nominated for GOTY. Yakuza gonna be ignored, isn't it?

Elden Ring getting a nom is horrible tbh. can we not glaze a FROM souls game just once??? best game direction as well, even though it is literally just more elden ring. FROM is one of the best devs in this industry but we need to stop pretending they haven't put out the same game over and over since Demons Souls.

Black Myth is hardly decent game. painfully mid considering the hype it got.

Sorry, I'm already pre-glazed. It's too late to stop what's coming.

WHAT A JOKE OF A LIST !!!!!!!
Balatro... a card game with a twist... for goty?!
ER dlc for goty?! It's just a dlc... it's not a separate game. You cant just buy and play it. And it's a tryhard streamer game anyway...
And of course hellblade 2 in most categories. best acting?! Lol maybe most overacting.

There should be Stellar Blade, Dragons Dogma 2 and Silent hill 2 there. Not a fucking card game no matter how good it is.

My vote 2024 would be Stellar Blade. It's the best game I've played in a log time T&A or not.
edit: But we are talking about an establishment which has completely skipped Hogwarts Legacy last year... so wtf

Stellar Blade, Helldivers and Silent Hill 2 snubbed BAD

Rise of the Ronin should've got best action nom at the very least.

Admittedly though, Shadow of the Erdtree is a pretty rare breed in terms of DLC scale. The scope is much more akin to a sequel.
A sequel with repeated bosses, environments, exact same gameplay and design. ER is one of the best games of this gen no doubt, but to say it's DLC stand among games in 2024? nonsense imo!

longtime From fan but I have gotten to the point where their darling status is getting a bit much. We even see excellent souls like games NOT made by them nowadays, they have received their flowers and some.

And then bootleg souls game with fancy graphics wukong get nominated. we gotta stop it with souls likes guys lol we're sending the wrong message to devs.
