Same. Despite sooo many shows, it's so dry out there. It's like publishers have forgot how to make good AAA games and how to hold an event to showcase them.

Agree for the most part. Most publishers make good AAA games but for whatever reason, they refuse to show gameplay which in turn should prevent them from having a showcase but it doesn't. I love Ubisoft but their Forward event sucked. I fast forwarded through that entire showcase. Only saw the few CGI trailers and that's it. Was surprised that they didn't show at least a few minutes of gameplay for Mirage. The Marvel/Disney showcase was even worse. Mostly all mobile crap that is of no interest to me.

The best showcase I have seen thus far this year was the State of Play with RE 4 and Callisto gameplay. After that was the Xbox Showcase. Both were a 7.0/10 and 6.0/10 respectively for me but yet still better than everything else this year. lol

We don't know if this 'insider' is the one who sent the PM, probably is falsely claiming it after copy pasting it. But we know that the Ubisoft stuff he posts was a copy paste of what Bloomberg already leaked before.

I'd be that if Sony really announces a new IP this month is going to be a PSVR2 (pretty likely 2nd or 3rd party) game.

No it wasn't. Jason actually doubted their post. He posted about 30 minutes before Bloombergs report.

I think the 2020 Showcase had FF16 exclusive, Returnal? I think it‘s I was expecting more PS5 exclusives in 2021 because 2019 and 2018 were no shows. I think the 2020 one was more exceptable because they had PS5 reveal a month before or something?

Sony had two showcases in 2020. June 2020 was the PS5 reveal with Returnal, Ratchet and Miles and September 2021 was with Miles, GOWR teaser trailer and the KOTOR Remake teaser trailer. Forspoken was June 2020 and Final Fantasy XVI was September 2021.

Between Microsoft and Sony, I have them ranked as follows -

1. PlayStation Showcase (September 2021)
2. Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase (June 2021)
3. PlayStation Showcase (June 2020)
4. PlayStation Showcase (September 2020)
5. Xbox Games Showcase (July 2020)
6. Xbox and Bethesda Showcase (June 2022)

I rank showcases based on how many games are shown but haven't been released yet and out of those games, how many am I interested in. That determines the percentage of the showcase and hen in turn, the rating I give it for myself. Remasters like Alan Wake/GTA V or dlc/expansions for Forza Horizon 5 or Sea of Thieves don't get included as the base games have already been released and me being interested or not was already determined and has never changed with dlc/expansions.
