In the online space much ballyhoo has been given by pro-Xbox console warriors and delusional fans about a supposed media bias against games published by Microsoft. But a review of the overnight megahit game Helldivers 2 by game "critic" and political activist under the brand "The Jimquisition", which scored the game an astoundingly low 3.5/10, betrays the actual media bias in the game critic space.
Quoted "You're supposed to expect a certain level of quality in a Sony-published game, and Helldivers 2 is a reminder that such expectations are naive as all f.ck."
Never mind judging a game on its merits, supposedly a Sony game should be held to higher standards, and if by virtue of being popular beyond expectation, extra demerits are to be imposed on the judging?
Methinks games media needs serious introspection on their internal biases and prejudices when reviewing games. That a game as excellent as Helldivers is punished for its success, merely because Sony is the publisher, what message does it send to developers?
