I bought part 2 on sale not too long ago. I don’t enjoy it but I’d be willing to try playing it again if there’s a remaster. But for $70? $50? No. For $70 and featuring the multiplayer game? Maybe (but no).

And it’s just to get the pc port out… hopefully, there’s an $10 upgrade path on console like Death Stranding DC. I’m def okay with it not being a free upgrade if there’s been any kind of work put into it.

No. It's the same engine, but Part 1 is improved. Lighting is better, Alpha effects are better, even some texture work is improved. This is from the top of my head since I'm doing a plat run for Part 1 and have recently revisited Part 2 (both on PS5)
The technical features of Part 1 are better but the artistic and "effort" parts of Part 2 are better. Probably because Part 1 was done by the junior/B-team.

I don't think it's got anything to do with that. The art design of the OG / Remake is way more "colourful" than Part 2. I prefer part 2's art design as well.

No I mean part 1 isn't as polished in the animations and details as part 2

This will probably be a PS4 game in a PS5 container with DualSense features.

It could use a lighting upgrade for in-game (not cutscenes). I expect them to bring such engine improvements from tlou1 remaster.

I know im beating a dead horse with this, but it has been 4 YEARS. The multiplayer mode should have been done a long time ago.

They weren’t building a multiplayer mode…. They were/are making a multiplayer game. Huge difference and arguably a bigger and more expensive game to make than their single player stuff.

Reported because you persist on this lie.

It's not a multiplayer mode, it's a standalone game.

I want the water in the distance to be drawn much better.

Overall this is one of the best looking games out there, amazing they pulled that out of hardware that was outdated when it was released in 2013.

The power of only having 1 platform to optimise for.

It should be launched with the game like the original imo.
TLOU was the whole package with SP + MP.
TLOU2 is only half of it.

When they "split" it I said on GAF that the chances to never see a TLOU2 MP was big and the announce it will come later just looked like PR talk to decrease the backslash.
After that they announced they moved the project to be an standalone game.
After that they didn't show anything more.

Well we are here now.

Another State of Play closer to The Game Awards.

I don't think a patch update to TLOU2 is worth a State of Play, let alone a Showcase.

Not unless it's very significant and adding more story content like @Satoru was saying, or Factions multiplayer like @anonpuffs was saying. I kinda doubt either of those happen.

Don't forget Sony are dumb enough to release a PC version to the what we'll get list.

Well technically TLOU2 is 3 years old now though that's still relatively "too soon" for an optimal PC port timing IMO.

Especially considering TLOU3 is several years away, not 1-2 years away. And if there is additional content in this version of TlOU2 I don't think they would choose to limit it to console if it's just MP-centric or light story additions, or things like extra guns and costumes.

I wonder if this will be released on PC. If it is, I guess we can say Sony's strategy of pandering to PC port beggars will continue. If it doesn't, we can safely say they are finally course correcting on their mistakes.

Naughty Dog is officially a remaster/remake studio. 3 years into the PS5 and literally all they've made are remakes and remasters, haven't announced a single new game, haven't shown anything about Factions 2. Quite sad, really.
