The heroine should be called Naoé/Naoi (but it could be changed between now and the release of the game, like Jora became Eivor in Valhalla). It is also very likely that it is her name in Japanese "ナオエ" under the Assassins logo on the right.

- Her story is similar to that of Bayek. A member of the Order will kill her father and a quest for revenge will follow which will push her to create/join the shinobis.

My reaction: The Order should strictly refer to the Templars this time since this takes place ~30-50 years after Ezio's death, but creating the shinobi shouldn't be possible since there's already established lore of them existing well before the Europeans first got there (I do see the /join bit, though.) And her name shouldn't be spelled ナオエ since that specific system of writing Japanese (katakana) is reserved for foreign loanwords.

Well that’s cool and all but I’m not sure what I’m supposed to be excited for besides another assasins creed game? I guess another assassins creed game is what I’m supposed to be excited for?

Too late, Ghost of Tsushima already cashed in on the medievil Japan hype.
While I agree, there is one thing that AC will have over GoT: Scale. Yes, Valhalla and especially Odyssey did so little with their maps, but Origins showed what can be done with the tech and design philosophy they aim for nowadays. I want the whole of Japan or at least a huge part of it explorable, that alone would make me check it out. It'll also be the perfect podcast game, like the other modern AC's before it 😅 I hope we'll get a look at it sooner rather than later. I'm not hyped for it or anything, but I'm interested in seeing if they tool any lessons from Ghost of Tsushima (I doubt it, but one can dream...).

So you want a big, empty, boring game?

Scale? Assassin's Creed games have massive maps, but that's it. People nowadays throw the word "scale" as if it means something. Starfield has "massive scale" since it has a load of planets, and yet it's pretty much devoid of any meaningful content.

Expectation: anime AC with ultra realistic graphics anime modeled characters like FF series.
Reality: usual AC with western games generic models characters using some low-level actors as face models lol 🤣 .

Good, I hope it really is a real female protagonist this time and not just a lazy genderbend like Eivor

I want them to actually do something interesting for once, but I don't trust Ubisoft enough to deliver. If it's more like Origins than Odyssey/Valhalla, then I'd be happy.

See, I agree with Odyssey and Valhalla, but Origins actually used its map to tell a broader story. Each region is distinct, filled with history and the way they implemented in the story wasn't groundbreaking, but it was something. I feel like people like to sh*t on Ubisoft because "lol it's Ubisoft", but they sometimes deliver great games, they just don't get how to follow them up. Same happened with Watch_Dogs. The first game sucked, the second game is a playground that gives the player insane amount of freedom and then the third one is just crap again.

I didn't shit on Ubisoft though, so don't put words in my keyboard.

And none of the assassins creed games since syndicate have been anything but snoozefests, origins notwithstanding. They hit 1 home run while the rest is garbage.

Yeah I was actually interested in the modern day story with Desmond until brotherhood when they killed off Lucy & gave no explanation as to why other than alluding that she was a Templar then it fell of a cliff for me
