The Snitch: Lower Expectations for today's State of Play

It's a SoP announced without any fanfare and just a day in advance.

Being on the same day as the Nintendo Direct, I actually expect (fear) they might also use it to announce PS versions of some of the games announced in the Direct.

So expectations are pretty low already. In fact, I'm probably going to skip it, as it will be 1AM where I'm currently and had a very exhausting vacation day today

TBH I would rather they use this SOP for as many new unrevealed games as possible. SF VI, RE4 Remake, FF XVI, Forespoken etc. can all be saved for TGS.

Unless there are some exclusivity things for PS platforms like first beta access (Street Fighter VI), or timed exclusivity on DLC content (Elden Ring), that type of stuff. Otherwise if it's just marketing rights, that can be reinforced through TGS which isn't nearly as time-constrained.
