  • Dragon Age: The Veilguard pre-order figures are "within expectations", according to EA.
  • This comes from an investors showcase, in which EA also says that there's a "strong demand" for the latest Dragon Age game.
  • This comes after the huge success of Dragon Age: Inquisition, which still appears to be the best-selling BioWare game.
This comes from EA's Investors Day showcase, which streamed last week. As noted by BioWare blogger Felassan, it was also said that Dragon Age: The Veilguard's pre-order sales are "tracking within expectations". This doesn't give us exact figures, but it suggests that the series is in a good place as it inches closer to launch day.

"This is BioWare doing what it does best: immersive storytelling, memorable characters, and a gorgeous world," says the president of EA entertainment, Laura Miele. "The Dragon Age community is buzzing, and the press reception has been really positive. The game looks great on console and PC alike, and we are already seeing strong demand on the largest platforms."
Chief financial officer Stuart Canfield also references The Veilguard's sales.

"We’re eagerly anticipating the launch of EA Sports FC 25 next week, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard in October, and both are currently tracking within expectations."

There’s a lot of fans and it’s been a long time. There’s definitely some excitement for it. The post-mortem player experience will be interesting.

It honestly doesn't look bad. It's the opposite it looks very tempting. Would be the first Dragon Age since Origin, which piqued my interest. The Combat seems great, and the graphics are good. It's also made by the MassEffect team. It will probably have a solid performance.

Just seeing them normalise Top half surgery, then trying to pass it off as some inclusion crap kind of pisses me off.

As other people say, it's got a huge fan base, and they are lucky as they will probably get away with this shit; IMO, if it were not an established IP, it would flop hard.

Yeah that part annoys me too. But we can't change it sadly. As long brain-washing instances like SBI, ESG and Black Rock keep manipulating the masses we will need to bear with this inclusive bullshit.

Well, I hope the game is good for the fans. From what I have seen, the combat looks good, although I still can't get over that terrible colour palette they use.

Purple really sucks.

So rumor has it the game’s character art are AI creations. Would explain a lot about the doll look of humanoid characters.

Wouldn’t surprise me if nuBioware is that lazy and talentless…

Yeah it was GOTY 2014.
Problem is there gonna be using popular ips and top studios for this crap. Unlike Hollywood were dumb directors/producers mess it all up lol

I wonder if it still has such a big fan base. The last game released 10 years ago.

Before Inquisition they released 3 games in the span of 5 years, and within the following 10 years we got nothing out of that franchise. In fact, we only got failure after failure out of Bioware.

The interest in the franchise has definitely cooled down and the dev house doesn't have the name recognition it once had.

I just don't see this game being successful, especially with the horrid art design and purple everything. They're only saying "the press reception is very positive", but they buy 90% of press positivity with just the top surgery scars and LGBTQ NPCs everywhere.

I can see Assassin's Creed Shadows getting good-ish sales thanks to its fanbase alone, but Dragon Age? Not really.

Inquisition is the worst game ever to win GOTY, you can imagine the quality of games that released in 2014 if DA:I won it lol. Veilguard looks like a mish mash of 3 games after 2 reboots. I feel the pre-orders for this are around shadows levels, I am truly hoping that this one is the final nail in the coffin for bioware

There's demand for a new GOOD Dragon Age.

But maybe not particularly for Dragon Age: the Wokeguard, I'm really skeptical.

Dragon Age Origins made it my favorite franchise, and I bought and played all the DLCs for Origins and II.

I couldn't even finish Inquisition. It was so boring.

Dark Yurinka being anti-woke is one of the funniest things to me. More hard-lined than I am on it seems too 🤣

Consumers don’t buy what they’re not interested in and … (looks at Ubisoft’s recent statements)… the tried and true “money talks, bullshit walks” reality.

But now when I see “pre-order” talk like this I question whether these are genuine reports if not just media fluff to advertise and gaslight. Could be… DA has been tracking well from anecdotal ps chart observations since it was available to pre order.

But… gamers have been clamoring for a proper BioWare rpg and DA game for a decade. It might still be a draw for consumers.

We shall see.

I don't doubt him, I'm not that interested based off what I've seen but I don't see the game flopping either unless something goes terribly wrong
