Halfway through it. Will go back to it after Dragon Age and Black Ops 6 campaign. It looks great and better than the first game, audio is good voice acting wise but the voices in your head have overstayed their welcome, story is equal to the first game but the combat is two steps backwards. The way I rate games, as of now, graphics - 9.0/10, audio - 7.0/10, gameplay - 5.0/10, story - 7.0/10. Overall - 7.0/10.

I do prefer Ryse: Son of Rome and The Order: 1886 over Hellblade 2. They kinda all have the same issues. Looks great, sounds great for the most part, story/characters is good and keeps you interested but the gameplay/combat leaves a lot to be desired.

So you played hellblade 2 for 2-3 hours and gave up?

As someone who rated The Order: 1886 a good 7.0/10, it has issues beyond the short run time which didn't apply to me as it took me 12-14 hours to complete. The issues with the game had to do more with all the boss fights being bad, a few chapters just being cut scenes and it having black bars on the top and bottom of the screen didn't help matters especially during gameplay/combat because enemies in the background especially those in an elevated position, you couldn't shoot at until you moved up closer. So while I always wanted a sequel especially since it ends on a cliffhanger, it was like Ryse: Son of Rome for Xbox One, a visual technical showcase. It wasn't meant to be an amazing game. It was meant to show you what the console was capable of.

So you play one game for 12-14 hours, complete the game.
You deduct points from one game for black bars but not the other.
But a game with worse combat, worse boss battles that you only played for 2-3 hours. Has the same score according to you?

I hope you'll raise your bar when you get the ps5 pro today. No more stanning.

What's you opinion on hellblade 2?

I just fully beat Hellblade 2 a couple weeks ago.

It's very similar to the first game overall which is good if you just want "more Hellblade." I think Peter420's assessment is largely on point. There are still some good vibes when you're just listening to the rocks and trees, but I felt many aspects were weaker than the first.

The voices are a bit overeager to help you solve puzzles, and the combat is too easy to feel particularly engaging. There is a much larger cast in the sequel, and in order to maintain the setting of the game, and the narrative explaination is a bit tenuous.

I think it's still a buy, but definitely wait for deep sales.

How can someone criticize the order on combat, black bars, boss battles, just cinematic, too short.

While Hellblade 2 is those points but worse.

Also remember the context, that studio and game was attacked so hard by the media and gamers it led to studio demise. That is the context.

Didn't quit the game. I was waiting for the Starfield update with all the options I wanted so I decided to play through that instead and put Hellblade 2 on hold.

Fair enough but I rated both games exactly the same. This applies to Ryse: Son of Rome. Visuals - 9, Audio - 7, Gameplay/Combat - 5, Story/Characters - 7, Overall - 7.0/10

Ranking wise, it's The Order: 1886, Ryse: Son of Rome and then Hellblade 2 even though I haven't finished it yet. Games get rated on an individual basis. I don't compare them to other games unless it's within the same series/franchise. My ratings are for the individual game and then rankings are based on which game I liked/prefer more.

Got the PS5 Pro from GameStop but won't set it up until tomorrow. I will still be playing majority of my games on Xbox because it's where I prefer to play games and it's my primary gaming console. Xbox One X was better than the PlayStation 4 Pro and yet, I still played every game on PS4 Pro because it was my primary gaming console. No matter what, my primary has never and will never change for the respective generation.

Putting it on hold is a nice way of saying: its me not you, but isn't working out.

But fair enough. But you did mention you sold your series console and ps5 for the pro right?

I put God of War Ragnarok on hold after almost 40 hours so I could play through Evil West and The Callisto Protocol. Went back to God of War Ragnarok refreshed and it ended up being my 2022 game of the year. Sometimes I just want to take a break from the game im playing for various reasons. For Hellblade 2, Starfield is my game of the generation and I was simply more hyped to replay through the game as opposed to playing through Hellblade 2 plus Hellblade 2 will probably take me another few hours to complete so putting it on hold was no biggie where as with Starfield, me replaying it was also about two weeks before my vacation this past June started so I wanted to put a good amount of hours into the game and then be able to play it more during my vacation.

I bought the Xbox Series X Galaxy Black 2TB edition for $600 and because of that, was going to trade in the launch model Xbox Series X and thinking about it, I decided well, why not trade in my launch model PlayStation 5 and put all the credit towards the PS5 Pro? If I didn't buy the 2TB XSX, I wouldn't have bought the Pro. Simply, one decision led to another which led to buying the Pro which cost me $60 out of pocket. Plus, while the third party multi-platform games getting enhanced are great and all, that doesn't do anything for me because I already completed the games I wanted to play on Xbox Series X. For me, the PlayStation 5 Pro is first and foremost for Sony's published games especially Ghost of Yotei. I know Sony's studios will take far better advantage of the Pro than third party multi-platform developers will and if anything, this should already be well known because with PS4 Pro, what games looked and performed better than HZD, GOW 2018, Spider Man and Tsushima? I don't remember any company outdoing these games in regards to taking advantage of the PS4 Pro. Same will apply with the PS5 Pro for me.

If you put a game away after 2 hours, and you haven't played the game since. Is it really on hold?

xbox console for 600 dollar created a new price ceiling, and within that price range the ps5 pro is just 100 dollar more.

So in a way Xbox pushed you towards the ps5 pro?

It seems your slowly becoming a playstation fan.

It seems your slowly becoming a playstation fan.

I downloaded and installed (along with 10+ other games) Hellblade 2 when I setup the 2TB XSX. My plan is to play it after Dragon Age and COD BO 6 campaign. By the time I do this, Indiana Jones will be right around the corner.

Xbox didn't push me towards PS5 Pro because I will still be playing all my multi-platform games on Xbox. I wasn't even going to buy the 2TB XSX but saw a few people talk about it and knowing that I could trade in the launch model made me buy it. I wasn't going to trade in the launch model PS5 because first, it did have the disc drive and second, PS5 will always be secondary for me but when I checked the trade in values at GameStop, for $60 out of pocket, I figured why not buy the PS5 Pro? Plus, im all digital on both platforms and don't have any physical games whatsoever for any platform so I was like, why not?

On a related side note, I have been a PlayStation fan since day one. I have owned all of them including PS, PS2 Original, Slim and Super Slim, the PS3 Slim and Super Slim, PS4 and PS4 Pro and now PS5 and PS5 Pro. I'm a huge fan of PlayStation. I'm just NOT a fanboy or extremist. Same applies to Xbox. There's only a few console brands since the NES that I haven't owned.

It's just a spray painted Series X with a larger drive.

Wanted the bigger internal SSD, it does have the 5nm chipset which does load up the menus and whatnot faster, traded in the XSX for $325 and once their next console releases in two years, I will trade in this one which will probably be around the same amount if not higher since I don't see any permanent price drops happening this generation so basically, it ends up costing me very little.

I'm someone that also buys/trades in multiple consoles throughout the generation. Last generation, I had PS4 and traded it in twice to get the new revision and eventually traded it in towards the PS4 Pro. I bought Xbox One twice (first one was early 2015 but sold it to a co-worker after Quantum Break was delayed to 2016 and second one was the Rise of the Tomb Raider bundle later that same year because I wasn't waiting to play it), Xbox One S and Xbox One X.

I even bought Nintendo Switch in late 2017, traded it in late 2019 after Link's Awakening and in early 2023, bought the Switch OLED even though the second time only lasted two weeks before I traded it all in. So buying/trading consoles multiple times in a generation is nothing new for me. lmao

I thought you liked the prospect of having the most powerful console to game on. You bought the Xbox one x, and Xbox Series X based on that assumption.

But now that you have the most powerful console you'll play on a lesser one?
