Xbox put no effort into marketing this game, and it's sad because it's their only good game in YEARS. If it had a proper marketing cycle instead of shadow dropped it would've done better. They didn't even do any post release marketing either.~25 million Gamepass users.... 3 millions players.
Something is not working imo.

32% on Steam and 13% on Xbox, so around 390k~
It's "free" on GamePass and so are 300+ other games. Just cause a game is "free" on GamePass doesn't mean its being marketed! Does that mean all the indie junk on there is also being "marketed"? Obviously not, Xbox made NO EFFORT to make it stand out against all the other games. If you didn't watch their developer direct or coverage from gaming youtube channels, it would be hard to know it even existed. Not everyone is on forums or watching gaming videos like us. Especially Xbox fans who are the most casual bunch in gaming. What marketing do they need?
It’s free on Gamepass. Not like it’s a 70 pound game no one wants to buy.
So basically 22 million didn’t even bother downloading it and giving it a try.

I have no clue
I guess this works

What excuses are you talking about? I simply answered your questionYou can make this excuse for every game which does poorly.
Not marketed enough or there were too many other games.
Exactly, also you don't even need to download the game. You can play it through xcloud for 5 seconds and you instantly count as a player. Xbox also fudges the numbers with their MAU, I bet anyone that opens up solitaire on a Windows PC is counted as an active userUseless statistic. No context. They count someone who played it for 1 minute as a player.
Wouldn't expect anything else from MS and even with that, it's a horrible number. Not something I'd brag about. Their studios must be desperate.
