Leave it to the french to disrespect a whole religion followed up by a whole country. Truly a stain on humanity.

As an European who enjoys shitting on the French like any other European, this has nothing to do with them being French.
Ubisoft had been pretty respectful towards other cultures within their previous games.

It's just that this time they went all in with DEI and you can tell that the DEI teams bossed around everything in this game.

Their main consultant (at least the one appearing in all interviews) for Japanese culture is a Canadian professor of literature specializing in pedophilia between Japanese monks and little boys.
Just let that sink in for a moment. A specialist in gay pedophilia instead of a History Professor from the period at hand.

There's definitely not a lack of History experts in the Sengoku period in Japan, but I doubt they even bothered to go to Japan at all until late production. Because all that matters to DEI people is their botched notion of diversity.

That's how they end up thinking good diversity is having a black male protagonist performing gratuitously brutal murders of Japanese samurai to the sound of American hip hop, but the real diversity of Japanese culture vs the European and Arab culture they had so far was paid little importance.

In the end, they're just getting what they deserve.

The lead studio working on ac shadows is based in montreal canada.
Have you been to quebec lol, Its french land inside canada. Canada and France were the worst travel experiences I had and both have the "very polite" french present. Anyways its my own personal gripe so lets leave it at that

I would be shocked if Ubisoft delays Assassin's Creed Shadows. It's going to be their money maker this holiday season since they have nothing else.

If preorders were as abysmal as some sources have claimed, they're better off delaying the whole thing and do a release marketing push after whatever they think must be fixed.

But yes, losing the holiday period would be brutal.

Bro I dont disagree but the whole province of Quebec has very heavy french influence, even the official language is french. Montreal is the biggest city of quebec and has another studio namely ubisoft montreal. FYI ubisoft quebec is the lead developer for this which gave us another bloatfest namely AC odyssey

Game dev studios don't work like that they are incredibly mixed brits, swedes, germans, dutch, french, aussies, americans, japanese and new zealanders all work for ubi and bioware in that place. There is nothing local about game development people will move half way around the world for jobs in the industry.

Do yall think Ubisoft we’ll sell? Like fully sell off or sell parts (I think if they sold franchise to the higher bidder they could get much more then what there worth which rn looks to be around 2-3 billion)

Sony should see if Ubisoft sells of Tom Clancy. Getting the Tom Clancy ip/universe & getting Rainbow 6 Siege game/studio under PS studios would do wonders. Imagine a VR mode for R6 Siege similar to GT7. Also taking in the Tom Clancy Breakpoint/Wildlands that have experience in 3rd person tactical shooter & combine both Socom & Tom Clancy into 1 universe bolstering new life to Socom. Revive Socom & use iconic Tom Clancy characters to bolster Socom to compete w COD/Battlefield maybe make a side PVE mode for Socom like COD zombies maybe take influence to COD MW3 (2011) survival mode which was minimalistic but incredibly fun.

Idk as a huge Tom Clancy fan the ip/universe is worth near if not exceed 1.5 billion. The potential in singleplayer & multiplayer games to potential in cross media including tv shows, anime & movies to parks, merchandise/toys to extracting & monetizing the characters from Tom Clancy to other games such as Fortnite & collecting royalties from licensing.

Either way Ubisoft is fucked. There future is looking hella spooky
None of their IP is worth buying so no.

I was wrong hold my hands up.

"Not a chance in hell'

What were you basing that off of exactly? You never answered.

I'm calling you out because there is so much of this on the internet these days. "Not a chance in hell" "Zero chance" "Impossible"

Yet it happens as if it was nothing... the hyperbole based out of nothing is pretty wild.

The holiday period is also pretty crowded, there is evidence you can do just fine in Q1 or Q2.

Just look at Hogwarts Legacy which missed christmas as well.

There is no IP worth buying from them, maybe the tom clancy one but then again Sony refuses to make a Socom so why bother with a tom clancy based shooter. And trust me you dont want sony pictures anywhere near your favourite movie and tv ips

Im not an Ubisoft fan but RB6 and the studio would fit straight in. No changes needed. Would never happen and Ubisoft is worth buying for it

Man, I just don’t know how shit like this even passes the concept phase. You’re making an Ac game, an ip centred around presenting history in a fantastical setting, yet you go off putting an African protagonist front and centre. The options are endless, and this somehow bubbles through - rap music and all.

The lunatics are running the asylum, and nobody dares to check.

Ubisoft really does look like it’s in trouble.

I’m sure Beyond good and evil being vaporware for two decades doesn’t help (overhyped and no one cares —- no one cared the first time lols )

Missing an asscreed date will hurt. And if it bombs…

If it bombs they’re only going to be making Siege, Crew and For Honor. Disney Wars is already a flop.

— that also may not to be too bad

Well let's look at it this way. They should have learned EA's lesson when it comes to licensed property. Everyone was chasing Spider-Man and Hogwarts Legacy and its starting to blow up in people's faces.

They can't afford to delay ACS. The closer you get to GoY the worse off you're going to be. 2026 is already a minefield with GTA6 and CoD if it comes out in 2026.

There is a decent chance that Sony plans GoY to come out within the next 6 months.

Ubisoft has enough IP that they shouldn't be in this situation. They never needed to make Star Wars games.

Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six, Prince of Persia, Assassin's Creed... I agree with the shot they took with Xdefiant (terrible name) but that didn't land either. Crazy that they wouldn't have used the Rainbow Six IP to try and make a CoD killer, maybe they would have renamed Xdefiant if it were successful.
