We can only go by recent track records and the fact is Nintendo likes to cut cost with their hardware to provide a price point that is as low as can be. Expecting the Switch 2 to be anywhere close to PS5 power is a stretch. My only expectation for Switch 2 power is that is will be more than Switch other than that I don't know how far Nintendo will want to go with the specs.

PS4 level raw power with *maybe* slightly more RAM. The more modern and efficient architecture will allow games to perform slightly better than on PS4.

I’ll feel lucky if we get even that.

Yeah, PS4 power is all the Switch 2 needs. I don't buy Nintendo hardware for the 3rd AAA titles. I have a PS5 and PC for that if I am looking for the big graphic showpiece games from publishers. And if we are being realistic, Nintendo is never focus on displaying graphical prowess with their IPs. Titles like Mario have been more bout animation and colors than raw tech display.

Oh, for sure. I’ll happily take that level of power. It’s all about that fun gameplay anyway.

Lol wtf is delusional thinking ps5 level? Not to mention is going to be a hybrid handheld either way so it wouldn't be tht level even if they wanted to.

This bullshit again?

Most of Nintendo’s own games are held back badly on a technical level by their weak-ass hardware, and their art style does fuck-all to change that.

Don't forget Game Freak and their high tier level of incompetence when it comes to putting out any sense of resemblance of a "technical level" Pokemon games.

Noticeable weaker GPU than PS4 Pro
Much less shaders compared to PS4 Pro

Hell no the Switch successor moves within Xbox One levels.
PS4 Pro has a bandwidth of 218gb/s

Told you Nintendo is price-sensitive. They can’t go above $400.00

I can’t believe people on Resetera were saying that this will outperform a PS4 Pro. LMAO

Xbox Series S level of power should be ideal for Nintendo.

The Nintendo Switch 2 may feature an OLED display produced by Samsung, according to a new online report from Korea.

The new report, which was posted on news site Chosun Biz, revealed how Nintendo is reportedly in talks with Samsung Display to to supply next-generation OLED panels for various IT devices. These talks are pretty recent, as they apparently started on December 1st and were pretty much forced by the accusation of display maker BOE having allegedly gotten hold of Samsung's OLED trade secrets.

Dang! I would be surprised if Nintendo let out a OLED display right out the gate rather than hold off a few years and introduce one as a new SKU like they did with the current Switch. If this is true it will certainly have more people jumping in day one.

An OLED display would deliver a lot more value with few downsides vs any ambition on raw hardware performance, which brings mostly downsides for a Nintendo platform. I thought they might do split LCD / OLED options, but it adds complexity to the messaging (battery life especially), and to development (color correction). If they're gonna splurge somewhere, an OLED screen would be a good place to do it.
