Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2's popularity is seemingly declining, as the player count drops to an all time low.

Alot of the changes they did to Warzone 2 was off putting and ppl dropped it. That was definitely the case for me.I’ve been watching this for a bit. Console picture doesn’t tell the same story. We also do not have battle.net numbers. It’s no. 2 on XBL for instance. This is similar to how Warzone 1 performed vs Fortnite.
I do not believe battle.net numbers makes up for steam since it’s a safe assumption that most pc CoD players went to steam the moment it happened.
However here’s the thing… these numbers aren’t just Warzone. It’s f2p Warzone and $70 CoD. So yea it’s pretty bad compared to Apex and Destiny on steam. F2p Warzone 2 should be competing with Apex and PUBG. Retail arena CoD should be beating a $50 Destiny expansion. None of this is happening.
I 100% believe that retail arena CoD is out of fashion. When it was Warzone vs arena CoD last year (tracked separately) arena CoD wasn’t even a top 10 XBL game anymore.
The next release will paint a better picture vs Warzone 2.
Now this is an interesting scenario, where MS picks up actiblizz on the downslide and rather than getting $70b worth, which is really $50b+premium, it slides into irrelevance as more people move to pubg, fortnite, tarkov, etc.I’ve been watching this for a bit. MS will save it
Crack Down 3 was savedWhen has MS saved any game?
The Black ops remakes will help it but not as much as MW1-2. Kinda dead after that I thinkNot surprising. Like I've said before, CoD was rescued by MW1+2 remakes and then going FtP. If CoD was still a £70 a year game, it would have relatively dead.

Would really be interesting if cod follows the same trajectory as halo
Guitar Hero?MS have an easy lay up next gen, relaunching classic guitar hero gameplay on modern hardware with a fully integrated dlc store and carry it forward into future gen's, but new guitar hardware mimicking classic style. They could even retry Guitar Hero black and white as an also run. But if gonna push them as exclusive IP, then no sequels, just a GASS GH Classic and GAAS GH BnW. Is there not some sort of GH mobile game (I mean it used to be on DS and stuff) that people can tapout on the touchscreen for a song length whilst occupied on the crapper, like a few levels on Candy Crush
Edit: how many people would buy a still cheap Series S2, or supposed appletv sized device keystone, just as essentially a GH machine?
