Here's my short list, in order of bang for buck.

1. Roblox Corp./Roblox
2. Epic Games (main Cary N.C. team)/Fortnite
3. GameFreak/Pokemon
4. Rockstar North/Grand Theft Auto
5. FromSoft/Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, too many to list, really
6. Mojang/Minecraft
7. Mihoyo/ Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail
8. ConfusedApe/Stardew Valley
9. Nintendo EPD 5/ Animal Crossing and Splatoon
10. Toby Fox/Undertale

With a little more time to think, I have another 7 for the list.

11. Bungie. Destiny and Destiny 2. You'll note, I interpret last gen as last decade so no Halo here, this is all Destiny. If it were just that they wouldn't make the list, the real benefit is the "value add" they give to Sony in shaping the output of other studios. If they had a seperate team for this I wouldn't give them points for this but as far as I can tell, they don't. Absolutely one of the most valuable and valued units out there.

12. (Actually, bump it up to 8th, total.) Nintendo EPD 3 for the Switch Zelda releases. You'll note that I had originally discounted them as being not quite there. And if we are just talking game sales, no they really aren't. But I think there's a real debate to be had about whether BotW saved Nintendo in the console space. I don't necessarily agree with that statement but the fact that there is any debate at all puts it in the company of only the original Donkey Kong and Wii Sports. If I am to judge a game by the company it keeps, then it is amazing. Both titles are also massive and BotW has been highly influential as well. EPD 3's new slot puts it one step of a group that made its name copying them, though that is because of the Switch selling argument and not favoritism or scale fudging.

13. CDPR, with the Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk. Honestly, I forgot about Cyberpunk when making the original list and thus left them off for not having released a game in 8 years. As is they have brought the public eye to two massive, and massively profitable franchises. Even if its all downhill from here they still have created two huge juggernauts.

14. Respawn Games with Apex Legends (and Jedi Survivor, Titanfall, etc.) Although creating Apex Legends was their moneyshot the main Respawn team has released no fewer than five games in the padt decade, a rate that other, similarly qualified teams, have found hard to match. They only get credit for Apex up until they handed it off but hey, the start is the best part, right? And they can always come out of nowhere to do it again.

15. Raven Software. (CoD Warzone) Yes, not IW, Raven. Raven is the team behind Warzone 1 and 2, which Activision has made quite clear is the desired future of the franchise. They are also phasing out CoD: Mobile for a mobile version of Warzone. Without a doubt Raven is the most important studio to Acti's console future.

16. PUBG Studios (PUBG.) It can be argued what, if any, missteps they made while launching squandering their headstart on Fortnite, but the truth is that PUBG has remained a billion dollar game in its own right regardless of the competitors placed above it.

17. Bringing up the rear its EA Vancouver, the studio behind FIFA and its current year replacement, as well as EA's NHL and UFC series. Though really, its just here for the soccer. The game gets into the global top ten every year and has all decade, there's no way not to include them.
