What’s the point of buying future PS console if your spending more compare to PC & PS no longer has exclusive games that can only be played on PS

At this stage we as die hard PS gamers have to make peace with the fact the PlayStation we grew up with and loved is forever gone. It's been hijacked by the suites and shareholders since 2018. I don't even think the ones running the department now fully understands what made PlayStation the success it is today. It's now just a KPI metric for Sony.

Yes, we will still get Single Player tent pole games first but that's pretty much it. We already seen the devaluation of PS+ right in front of our eyes while price increases are put into effect.

They don't even understand the importance of communicating with the base, letting them know why it was a good idea they bought a PS5 or why they should... I can't blame PS4 gamers for not upgrading when those with a PS5 literally have no idea what they will even be getting from PlayStation for the rest of the year.

But I've amassed a huge digital library, meet some nice folks over the years and I enjoy the ease of play and the fact it's a one time down payment unlike PC.

But, I never would imagine this is how Sony would treat their most loyal customers for the last 4 decades or so... As second class system in their own ecosystem lol.

Gen Z goes to PC in part because they see streamers on high end gaming rigs. Gen X and Milennials didn't have that. They grew up with console wars and PC gaming was not as popular.
Many of the age old myths about pc gaming are spewed by that generation due to experiences they had as kids, such as "hours intalling drivers" or $ "5000 PC that gets old in 6 months" PC gaming is way more accesible to young milennials and Gen Z.

Console exclusives are just icing on the cake. If you prefer PC gaming you prefer it for its advantages and you know how to deaL with its negatives. I can't see old school console gamer going, ok god of war ragnarok release on PC NOW I am going to build a new PC and start my pc game collection from scratch.

There's a reason why Steam deck sold between 3 and 4 millon devices only. Its just complementary hardware for pc enthusiasts.

And regarding Nintendo: Why the Wii U sold so little then? FFS the Wii U carried the switch for half of its lifecycle with its library of games and was a BC beast including Virtual Console.
I don’t always agree with what you say. But you’re spitting facts on these people. Lol

Do people really need to repeat the reasons why they prefer console yet again? It's all out there, nothing has changed. Ever since it's become absolutely clear that Xbox is finished, there has been a lot of pushing for console gamers to go to PC. Is it really that hard to understand that other people have different preferences and will therefore make different choices than you?

Because i don't want to deal with shader compilation stutter and useless launchers. And te fact that a midrange GPU costs more than a console doesn't make it any better.

Genuinely asking why by a PS console when your spending more on PS then you would be if you just bought a PC or a Steamdeck that got you into the PC ecosystem at the same price as a console ($500)

https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/s/W9JcjBgxqA

And with essentially the confirmation from leaks & Nintendo buying a port studio that will port 3rd party games Nintendo next console getting all 3rd party to either release day 1 simultaneously with PS & PC or after a short time releasing after. Nintendo seems to get the same games as PS with 3rd party if not cater more w Japanese & mobile studios & they have true permanent exclusive first party games unlike PS & Xbox.

https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/s/t2JLktBtUR

Funny how PS is nothing more then a delayed Xbox & chosen to follow Xbox while Steam went from 3rd party to realizing they can become the defacto gaming platform by letting other competitors cannibalize each other platform & storefront by seeking short term profit & short term growth. Steam platform & storefront become the place to play games which makes Steamdeck the better device to play Xbox, PS, PC & gaming in general with its library spanning wider then PS.

PC & Nintendo is the best combo for gaming. PS like Xbox is no longer in the picture in gaming in the long term.

Oh & Sony spending 26 billion on Paramount a dying entertainment company is funny there’s other targets like WB or double downing in gaming & turning gaming ip to established entertainment films, movies & animation. Sony can gain better & stronger ip for much cheaper that would help Sony as a whole instead of solely Sony pictures.

Someone said SpongeBob exclusive games would have potential. And that the Spongbob ip would have potential in gaming bruh

wpvq3svzgax81.jpg

Hell seeing the rise of Lego & it’s collaboration with gaming companies like Fortnite & collabs w PlayStation & Nintendo using there ip to expand into a new demographic acquiring Lego to bolster Sony & PS merchandise & toys business is a better target then Paramount for far cheaper

Lego is kinda a endless business mondel & its probably low cost w high profit
I'd say the question is why you guys keep spamming all these "sony is doomed" and "sony haz no gamez" threads every day instead of using the same one. We saw multiple threads about this PS/PC topic multiple times in the last few days.

People buy consoles because prefer to play on consoles instead on PCs, particularly to the games that are in these consoles have tons of games they like that are not available in PC, many of them at least at launh. And for many reasons more, one being the plug and play experience, or not having to worry (in most cases) about big performance issues, hardware specs & compatibility issues, cheaters, windows/drivers/etc updates, better horsepower/price balance etc. Or just because prefer to play in the sofa or because having build an extensive library there across multiple generations.

There are a ton of reasons of why people prefer to play on console or particularly PS.

Just warriors care that much about exclusives. Most people dont
Hardcore gamers are the ones that spend hundreds a year on a platform. Not the regular fifa/cod yearly buyers. The industry cant live with just COD/Fifa and Fortnite fans. Hardcore fans bring in the money too/

I dont know why everyone is pretending exclusives dont matter all a sudden from when MS started saying the same narrative. Phil said exclusives dont matter and then everyone got on board.

But look at Nintendo and Playstations most successful years. Its when they have there biggest, most costly exclusives like Zelda TOTK, TLOU2, Spiderman, God of War etc.

Nintendo, Sega, Xbox and Playstation have all succeeded because of there exclusives, whether its 3rd party timed exclusives, or 1st party games. From Halo 3 and Gears, to God of War, GTA, Mario and Sonic. When Exclusives sell best, it gives an identity to each platform. And its obviously when they have all have been the most successful.

Having a top product that only your platform sells, gives more reason for people to buy only that product. Its not rocket science, its not a mystery and its a very simple thing that has happened for decades in the gaming industry.

The importance of exclusives isnt gonna disappear now that Xbox and Steam fans want to say its not a good idea. Playstation might be stupid enough to fall for the narrative but the proof is in what they are and Nintendo have been doing all these past decades

Same reason I had for decades now, including during the PS4 era where all PS4 games were available on PC via streaming.

I don't want a $2000 machine that'll still run games like crap because developers couldn't be bothered to optimize it. I'll always have a PC but it'll mostly be used as an emulation device. That's the only place I can play my favorite online game that closed in 2012. with all content available plus more. (MGO2)

Everything else is PS, sometimes Nintendo for a nice little break with some simpler games and xbox is there because why not. Haven't used it much this past year.

Not everyone wants to configure their game settings or figure out PC parts and what they mean. And heaven forbid you decide to use an outside game patch to fix a game bug. Some people enjoy how console games "just work" and you don't need to think about all the little details about how to get it running good.

I love PC gaming and love my Steam Deck, but you can't expect everyone to be comfortable in that environment.

The problem is, as demonstrated by recent PS Studios games, that their PC strategy has impacted their PS development so much that games are being released buggy as fuck, much more than before. On PC you can sometimes get unofficial patches, on PS you're shit out of luck if they don't fix an issue.

This is such a boomer take, you don't to configure anything on modern PC games.

Are we sure that that's the reason they're buggy? Its not as if the games are being made with PC first in mind. Except for Helldivers 2 they've all been late ports.

I'm 28 and primarily play games on PC
I have to download a mod to make newer Atelier games run decently on my 3070. I spent a good hour messing around with FFXV's settings (adjusting resolution, TRAM, AA, and Shadows including its .ini) trying to get the performance to 60fps with stutters removed whilst limiting as much degredation of picture quality as possible because I'm running a 4k setup and don't have enough RAM or VRAM. I download and run Oblivion and the game crashes when I alt tab and I spent a good while researching how to fix that only to find fixes that created new problems. If I run Fallout 4 the game crashes in the opening unless I turn off weapon debris in the settings. I'm not a boomer, I'm just being real.

It's all a coincidence that the timelines match, same as them missing sales targets for consoles.

Visit the Steam Forums and you have detailed written guides on pretty much every game, with troubleshoots and mod enchantments.

On Console if you have issues you are out of luck.

I'm playing FF13 now with Mods that make it 4K and replaces the character models with the high quality ones from thr cutscenes. This is the best way to play the game.

With FFXV you also have a ton of mods too, the reshade one is so good.

You just don't get things like this on console
