Considering that Microsoft decided to release their first party exclusives outside of Minecraft and Call of Duty, I don't see how any other changes could be more major then what they've already done.

Yeah, that would be the only thing left. lol

My prediction is that they launch their next generation console in 2026 but due to low as fuck sales, they're completely out of hardware before 2030 because when all their games now revolve around "when is it coming to PlayStation/Nintendo", there's simply not going to be much if any demand for their consoles and that's 100% on Microsoft because they just don't have a fucking clue.

It was never a random leak; that leak was 100% accurate but was so dense in the details that it sounded outlandish to many (especially Xbox diehards). People were expecting the leak to be confirmed during the Business Update which was never going to happen, but that never de-confirmed the leak itself.

Considering the guidance of Xbox console hardware sales this year, figures that Discord leak is 100% happening. In steps, but definitely happening. The full of it will likely be implemented by the middle of next year, if not the end of this year.

Yeah by random I don’t mean it was inaccurate, just that leak culture these days leaks are almost always used to bring attention to the leaker through either super vague hints or podcast l/twitter content. This leak seemingly came out of nowhere and just gave the details without much fanfare lol It’s quite wild

Seems that plans for Bethesda and ABK, with a few exceptions of timed console exclusivity for Bethesda, were always considered to be kept as multi, like Mojang and Double Fine. The difference in recent times are the Xbox Game Studios titles, which now also seem to be timed console exclusives too.

The next big change for MS will be to open their gaming store in mobile and -if Sony and Nintendo ever allow it, something they won't if not forced by regulators or the court- rival consoles.

And then switch to become a full multiplatform publisher for all their games releasing them everywhere day one, and abandon their console because can't compete against Sony and Nintendo and their console market is becoming so small that won't even make sense for them to release their games there as timed console exclusive.

A very different case to Sony and Nintendo, who are super successful with their consoles and are more than happy focusing on them.

If they try to release another traditional console they'll just embarrass themselves, there is no way to follow up the Xbox One and Xbox Series console with another Xbox and expect people will show up.

They should just quit and spare everyone the sight of another useless Xbox.

This is not true (at least relating to Zenimax). In the leaked internal memos and emails, there is direct proof that Pete Hines was upset with Phil Spencer in making ALL future Zenimax games permanent console exclusives to Xbox. Which means a decision had already been reached and implemented at the high lever on that point, only reversed some time later.

The fact HiFi Rush is the first of the post-Ghostwire Tokyo Zenimax games to get a port to Sony & Nintendo consoles is more to do with the fact the game was already deep in development for those systems before Tango were ordered to suspend dev to focus on Xbox & PC.
