Apparently meanwhile users who stacked GP and used a loophole to convert to GPU are being removed from the service until they pay full price! 😂. They will always get their money back somehow.

Pretty much, do you think they will decrease their cut on XBox Marketplace too? 😏

Ahhh no.

Definitely not now that they are trying to get everything on Gamepass IMO.

They have to make selling / buying games seem like a less beneficial deal in comparison.

Microsoft is trying to entice developers to list more games in its store.

Didn't they try this a while back? Seems its still not working. Looks like Gamepass on PC is not going as well as it is on console. I believe this is proof of that. Can't add a game to PC gamepass if it doesn't have a Windows Store version.

Ah I see, needs to be on windows store. Thought it could just be on steam. That makes sense.

No when you download a game on PC through XBox app for gamepass its grabbing the data from Windows Store. Hence installing games is shit on PC. It required it to have a PC version. For EA titles on Gamepass the content is coming from EA's servers. Which is why it makes you sign into Origin/EA desktop app to download the content, which is using Gamepass as the UI only. Content comes from EA directly.

Origin has always been EA's PC launcher/Client. It sucks. But for gamepass it makes you use a new app called EA Desktop app.

No one is using Gamepass PC to the extent Microsoft wants. Hence them relaunching a campaign for it. But this news about developers 12% for being on their store, says there's not enough games on Windows store.

Why this matters for the future of gamepass is, when you make a deal for a game like Outriders, or MLB the show or whatever, you want that game available for XBox console and PC. Only way to offer it for both is if you have the content coming from Microsofts servers. WHich means the developer/Publisher of said third party game needs to make a Windows Store version.

Windows store version of a game is not the same version as a steam version.

You think they will try to buy Steam so?

They cant.

You can't buy another store, unless your condensing or closing yours. If they buy steam to use it instead of windows store then windows store would have to go away. And MS makes billions off Office Apps alone that you can buy through their web portal or download via the windows store.

Thats not changing. FCC would not allow that.

The issue with the Windows store was never the cut devs got, yeah its more enticing for DEVS to sell their games there but PLAYERS wont give a single fuck about that. As usual M$ thinks with their wallet and not their heads.

For a software company Windows store is dreadful, I don't see how they managed to screw it up so badly. No end of problems with it, can never get it to update properly, nevermind making purchases through it. The last think I tried to activate through the store was a code for Forza Horizon 3 I bought through a legit reseller. I got it working eventually, but never going through that again! From comments I see about it now and again I see it has not really improved.
