Translation;

The year 2023 is particularly catastrophic for Microsoft in terms of console sales. We previously mentioned the ratio of 80% / 20% for PlayStation and Xbox sales in Europe. But it gets worse: in 2023, in France, we are getting closer to a 90% / 10% ratio. That the Xbox Series shows a severe drop in its European sales in September 2023 compared to September 2022, despite improved supplies, the release of Starfield, and while PS5 sales explode, says a lot about the situation.

Only thing I like more than good ps news with my morning coffee is bad Xbox news. Good Fck Xbox. There biggest game ever dropped this gen released in September and their sales are worse than when they had nothing in September last year. Rip

Not suprising at all. I remember seeing someone on Twitter uploaded a video of himself going to a video game store in France and there were almost no physical copies of Xbox games there whilst there were plenty in the Playstation section. Them having a such a tiny retail presence will only hurt the perception of their brand even more. Plenty of people still go to video game stores and buy physical copies of games

Outside of US and (arguably) UK, Xbox is dead. Japan, Brazil, India, Germany, you name it...console sales and the brand itself have cratered and it's likely only going to get worst.

Can't begin to stress how much ABK and Game Pass mean to Microsoft going forward in gaming. Sarah Bond is either tasked with killing off Xbox hardware or transitioning it to a PC-centric gaming hardware line with the Xbox brand name & user interface. Likely the latter.

Xbox's days as a brand on the traditional console business model are finished.

They think buying publishers and existing IPs is the solution. Clearly it's not but they will keep buying with the blessing from clueless regulators 🤡

They thought everyone in the world would flock to Xbox and they would be propelled to international relevance but no.... they just robbed people of access to games, hurt the IP's and lowered the revenue of the overall industry.

Yup, brand is totally effed, Phill caused more damage than last guy did, and thats so hard to believe.
Also 9:1 means MS does not give a fuck about the brand outside of the UK, cause the only way you get that bad of a ratio is if you are not trying and selling off word on the street.

Not only that, but they stoked the flames of the console wars arguably higher than they've ever been. I wasn't around to see the Sega v. Nintendo console wars in the 90s, but I feel like now it's even worse. It's exasperated in the modern era by social media and the cult-like mentality of xbots.

For me, personally, I've never really been a fan of Xbox, other than a period of stupidity 7th grade where I caved to peer pressure and bought a 360 to play with friends (I'll just chock that one up to the puberty hormones temporarily frying my brain 😂), but I also didn't really care about the brand. Ever since they announced the start of their shopping spree with daddy's money at E3 2018, I have despised the brand and have been eagerly awaiting their downfall. I hope that one day in the near future, the poem Ozymandias will be a fitting piece of literature to compare to Xbox.
