Yes, I'm paying attention: Sony posts record revenue and profit, in a few years TLOU2, GoWR and Spider-Man 2 broke records for a fastest selling PS exclusive, TLOU2 was the most awarded game ever, Sony won the GOTY many years, they are selling more games for PS consoles than ever, PS have record engagement, Sony is getting record revenue from their game subs, record revenue from accesories, record numbers in social media, PSVR2 started performing better than PSVR1, PS is crushing Xbox 80%-20% in Europe and in places like France (traditionally 3rd biggest European country) 90%-10%.Lol have you not been paying attention to what’s going on?
Sony is breaking (positive) records all over the place and if not have top tier performance in most measurable area or metric. Which means they are doing good even if you hate it.
Most Sony GaaS were greenlighted before he was CEO. Most of the known Sony games he greenlighted weren't GaaS.
Independently of the chosen CEO, you'll see Sony releasing (some of them already are released) the promised dozen GaaS by 2026 (maybe a one or two may end delayed to 2027).
You also saw Sony pushing on the PC ports side (again, something that he didn't start, already was in the works when he became CEO). Independently of the chosen CEO, you'll see Sony continuing with the PC ports and on top of that also pushing hard on the mobile gaming area in the upcoming years, both via cloud gaming and via native games.
And as Jimbo did, the next CEO will do these things not decreasing, but instead increasing, their efforts and investment in first party games for console. A market where -as happened during the Jimbo era- they'll continue increasing their market share. But the whole console market, even if will continue pretty flat but still growing, will continue becoming a smaller percentage of the total gaming market because mobile will continue being the biggest and fastest growing gaming market.

He was there to reap the benefits of work that had been done for ten years previously.
I was being hyperbolic and having fun with the "reign of terror" but I don't think he contributed much to the success of PlayStation in the grand scheme.
If he was truly behind the price hikes, poor communications and GAAS push.... it's been a pretty mixed bag with him. Not all negative but definitely not all positive and I am not one to make excuses for everything PS does.
I mean his division is the only one that is successful all the time, eg Europe

He did. He literally resisted MSs infinite warchest and fought back greatly. Maybe it wouldn't achieve 25 mil. sold PS5s till Mar. 2024, maybe few. mil. less which is damn good result either way though.
You can't blame him for PS5 price hike at all. It surely isn't a good move. But situation in the world it is what it is. You will see a price hike in one segment immediately it will follow another price hike in other segment (like PS+). It goes hand in hand. GAAS games were greenlighted before Jim and Hulst stepped in.

It's just because Europeans loved Sony and then PlayStation was massive when it launched, there was nothing else that could rival it IMO.
It made gaming bigger than it ever was before here...
It did but it takes a capable leader to cultivate that. Sony TVs and Sony phones haven't taken control of the market the way PlayStation has - you gotta give Jimbo credit where it's due.
PS took off in Europe thanks to games like Buzz! and Singstar, and that was a Phil Harrison push back in the day.
PS made it in Europe in spite of Jim Ryan, not thanks to him.

Other way round. Harrison was and remains inept.
The first two points are deafening in comparison. Xbox is better off being a third party publisher.
