Managed to finally snag the portal.

And when it rains it pours.

Ordered in the morining from a retailer who put the delivery date of the 19th, later ps direct restocked and ordered from there as the delivery date should be next week.

Now trying to get the first order cancelled.

Highly recommend hotstock app, no way i would have known when these restocks where happening without it.

Yeah i saw the same thing when i first downloaded it. everywhere out of stock.

Make sure to set up an alert for the ps portal on the app, it will send a notificaiton to you when it is back in stock.

If you want an idea of when stores last resocked, click on the ps portal in the app and then scroll down to a red text that says "Stock log: see when stores had stock".

I just finished playing PSVR2 Resi Evil 4 best way to play it. Weekly games come out for PSVR.

Tiny screen? Tht screen isn't tiny at all. I leave my house and stay at my girls several times a week I'm not buying another ps5 or taking mine, portal is a godsend.

Its like playing ps5 game on tiny screen

It's the use case sir. Peopled dont understand.I'll break it down with a few of my real life use case & then hypoticals.

1. It's way better than tablet/laptop controller set up.Way more reliable. In June I blew out my knee I was bed ridden for 4 months couldn't sit down & bend my knee. I tried the tablet/controller set up balancing the tablet on the bed/stomach/leg. It wasn't great experience. I dropped it because it was clunky, Bluetooth drops, picture quality drops. Charging two devices. That's when I decided to pre-order the portal.It's use case made sense to me then. It's a better overall device.

2.My nephew was dumped on me so I babysat him. After he got bored running around. I sat him down by putting on paw patrol. Turned on the portal and played. Easy baby sitting.

3.Laundry day. I'm sure many of us have put clothes in the washer. And forgot the timer and now the clothes are damp. Guess what bring the portal to the room.Wash and play. No forgetting to take the close out.

4. Playing in bed on a Sunday. Or just a 40 min session before sleep.The perfect way to trophy hunt.

5th & obvious. Xmas if you are with family. You won't have access to the tv. Home alone, shrek, sister act, toy story etc will all be viewed. Board games will be played.Even if you don't participate in anything you "have" to be there it's Xmas.Bring out the portalplay your games. And sont be bored.

Whenever you don't have access to a TV but want to play. The portal is a go. Also excellent for platform/sidescrollers, trophies hunters. It's a go from me.

I used the Hotstock app and it showed amazon had it in stock a few times throughout the day and it sold out instantly every time!!

Even when I managed to get it in my cart, it still said not shipping until after Christmas. So yeah, i'm done trying to buy the portal this year.

I'm really impressed by the portal so far.

The steaming stability is much better then what i got on my phone, i have a galaxy s23 so it's nothing cheapy and the portal beats it so far.

Did some gt7 weekly challenges on my lunch break, and during the races no stutters but during menus i get the occasional stutter not a big deal.

I only received it this morning, the true test will be in the evening when my family start using the wifi more and my neighbours come home from work and start using their wifi, that's when wifi interference is strongest.

Even on the 5ghz frequency i get interference due to my neighours using a mesh system and the neighboring walls not being thick enough to stop the signal coming through. My fault they are using a mesh system as i suggested it in the past

I've been thinking about hooking up my ps5 to my downstairs router via ethernet cable for a while now, so might do that if the evening interference does get bad.

My gaming time is gonna go up that's for sure.

You shouldn't experience wi-fi interference at home. You should try changing your wi-fi channels and see if that fixes it, because it should.

The issue i ran into with the 5ghz frequency is my router only let's you set the range of the channels to 36-48. All those channels are being occupied by my neighbours routers.

The other option i might consider is enable the DFS 5ghz channels, i don't live near an airport and hopefully don't get radar interference from anythin flying to interfere with it.

Although so far my portal is fine on the non DFS channels.

Your ps5 isn’t already connected to Ethernet? Everyone says that improved stability a ton, so you should definitely do it regardless.

Yeah I'm probably going to connect it via ethernet soon, will be worth it if it gets rid of the random stutters.

The only reason I've not done it is I have to run the cable from my router downstairs to upstairs, not hard todo but too just haven't had the need to.

Are you able to change the channel bandwidth instead? That may help.
