If you play on PC you probably got hit by the Steam Tuesday maintenance.
While a bunch of Steam folks get booted out of their games, PS5 players just suddenly are able to "steal" a bunch of spots for this particular game due to capacity limits.

That's always how it was going to be, nobody is coming into a brand new environment, especially something as complex as networking interfacing with a game and be like "Yeah, I know I'm here for 2 seconds, but I know exactly the problem and I'm going to change shit on Day 1"

I mean it's the same with just regular game dev, onboarding for games can take as long as 3 months to be able to utilize someone at their 100% depending on how familiar or unfamiliar they are with the internal tools.

A side effect of the game peaking in NA times, all other PC centric games peak Asia/EU timezone usually, but this game is one of the few rare ones where the game is mostly played in NA, even on PC.
