What helps other games over PS games to get 95, 96, 97 etc...is that much fewer reviewers review them, so if a non-PS game is acclaimed the law of averages is on it's side. You realize that every PS exclusive has over 100 reviews easily, whilst XBOX exclusives or even multiplats not so much. It seems every Xbox outlet, every biased xbox troll is eager to review PS games. They even purchase them to make sure a few troll reviews get in. I'm sure Stevivor is itching to 1up IGN Korea.

Even older Nintendo games and those games still sitting at the top of overall meta charts only got averaged out of 15-25 reviews...
I've always said this, the highest rated game which is Zelda Ocarina is a 99 but only has 22 reviews aggregated. That is a weak ass 99 compared to alot of Sony games tht score high but have over a hundred reviews counted which raises the probability of the score getting lowered.

21 reviews with 100 and 1 with 6, already does reach 96. God of War had 250 for example.

:-S I bought an N64 for it, I liked the game... but nowhere as much as the score implied it would be.

Just to add to this..... even Elden Ring has 84 reviews, quite a bit less than GOW Ragnarok already!

Are you guys comparing Elden Ring PS5 version to GOWR PS5 version? If so, this isn't an accurate comparison because Elden Ring is multi-platform and reviewers normally get to choose the platform where they want to play and review the game.

A much more accurate comparison would be to use Open Critic which DOESN'T separate reviews based on platform which in all honesty is what should be done because separating the platforms like Meta Critic does makes absolutely zero sense when the games are exactly the same. In the last 8 years, only one game that im aware of was different which was Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor due to the 360/PS3 version not including the Nemesis system.

God of War Ragnarok has 138 reviews while Elden Ring has 197 reviews. The more reviews a game gets, the higher the probability the score decreases. If it doesn't, it's because reviews are staying very high.

But that is not precise. Pc port can be broken or console. Fps can influence the score, more bug glitches on one problem but not many on other and so on, PS5 has DualSense, it could help boost score, loading times and etc..

Not for me, i am afraid, way above my pay-grade atm.

I am thinking about subbing to ps extra thingy so i can maybe play Got and perhaps Deaths stranding.

I just went back to death stranding after upgrading to the director’s cut. I feel like there’s pacing differences early on and has changed how I feel about the game sorta. Been playing it an hour a day leading into GoW.

Gotta be honest. I was super disappointed by this game when it came out. I straight up want more Metal Gear and I still don’t think it’s as good as MGSV. BUT… as a post apocalyptic postal service game… it’s kinda chill. I always enjoy Kojima’s stories a shit ton so it’s kinda just acting like a tv series to me. And seeing how film and tv these days is flooded by braindead Marvel trash… this is currently my best option at a good story too. I welcome the break from all my split second, moment to moment shooter and fighter preferences.

Extra is of tremendous value right now. Just 40$ on top of plus. In this last month alone that gets you Nioh 2 on Basic and Dragon Quest 11 on Extra . Those are two awesome additions I’d say.

I’m totally in the position where I will only buy Destiny expansions and one or two single player games a year. And I’ve stil yet to dive into Elden Ring or finish CP2077 (stopped playing because of Ps4 trophies no carrying over — still annoyed). Extra will fill in the gaps nicely if it keeps going this way.

Ragnarok is one of those games im buying day one and plowing thru as fast as I could in a matter of days tho. Just trying to figure out if I will go with deluxe edition. Doesn’t seem like there’s anything of real value there tho.
