Propaganda pushed by Microsoft intensifies as industry so-called "figures of authority" regurgitate Phil Spencer's takes

It was inevitable.

Not even one week passed since Phil Spencer voiced his hypocritical take on Helldivers 2 exclusivity. Helldivers is a Sony owned IP, created with their funding - an important distinction from the numerous IPs MS has purchased, but not helped create.

In a public display of lack of integrity, Matt Piscatella, an industry analyst representing Circana (formerly known as the NPD), has decided to favor the multi-trillion dollar corporation throught Twitter/X.

One of the big reasons why the NES was so successful was because it not only had it's own first party games but because it had so many third party companies locked down to only making it for it. Then looked what happened the more success the NES had, the more games were made for it and some of those games still have sequels coming for them to this day.

So no It's not some weird gimmick console makers pushed on us to believe that exclusive benefit us, it literally helps more games come to the platform you spent your money on!

Yep, it was expected.

-MS leading the way
-PS is anti consumer for not going Multiplatform
-MS is visionary
-Exclusives have been a trick
-Pushing the narrative that PS is already Multiplatform…

These guys dont dissapear. MS has always been a propaganda machine. They have never been anything special and they rely on it there bs tactics.
Probably do some very dodgy things to help some very dodgy individual in government and elsewhere… COUGH COUGH Bill Gates loves Jeffrey Epstein and his island and still has shares in MS…..Clears throats

It's like all these analysts hate the industry. For them, Microsoft has the winning formula, everyone else is doing it wrong (including customers).

He talks about PC when Riot have their own platform, BattleNet, Steam and Epic too. All with their own exclusives. This is fine because they are not competing with Xbox directly. Sony is anti-consumer for having exclusives tho 🙄

Are they also against clothing stores where they sell their own brand? Cable TV with exclusive content? Apple TV? Netflix? Disney+? Prime?

They want to change the way the world works because Microsoft failed to buy publishers and make all their content exclusive 🤦‍♂️

Cicada (formerly known as the NPD)
The name is actually Circana as in circus freaks from the Circus. Clown Piscatella and Clown Dring on top 🤡

You should add Mat name in the title, he might see it on Twitter and reply.

It's incredible how quickly MS talking points are picked up by their faithful. We've seen it so many times in the past, that it's just completely obvious what's transpiring. It makes me wonder how truly stupid they are, and also how stupid they consider the audience?

I wonder how these people feel working overtime to cover for a massive corporation's failures to just produce a product people are willing to pay for?

It's utterly transparent that these talking points are being spewed at the behest of MS because they only ever target Sony's exclusives.

There's no hatred towards Nintendo not releasing games on Xbox. No hatred of Half-life Alyx or counterstrike 2 not being on xbox or PSVR2. No constant articles talking about how The Industry (TM) would be saved if only League of Legends or Dota 2 made their way to console.

It's jealousy and bitterness. And these people need to just deal with it.

These talking points are disseminated because Microsoft is paying these people. It's crystal clear.
I don't even think these people are bribed.

It's just politics. They do everything to appease MS, because they hope to be rewarded in some form once MS is done taking over.

The NPD guy is paid by Microsoft now?

😂😂😂💀😭
You don't have to be paid by a company to shill for them. Your posts in this forum kinda already show that. But I will give you a chance to understand why.

Microsoft as a company has an impressive reach: they are one of the most valuable, if not the most valuable company in the world at times. They are partially owned by massive private equity funds that own a lot of companies, either partially or in full.

For some, going against the party line may have them lose their job, or have to take a job at a substantial lower pay in a much smaller company. This happens every day, and it's not only in Hollywood that people get blacklisted.

There's a reason why a lot of people in a lot of industries resort to anonymity when exposing a lot of the disgusting things these companies do.

So yeah, it's perfectly possible to shill for a company, or to push a specific narrative that is popular amongst certain fambases, simply because you fear for your job. And let's not talk about public backlash - wasn't it Christopher Dring that changed personalities over night after he was bombarded with Xbox fanboys after an opinion piece that he pretty much had to modify / add a note to? Yeah, there's that too.

They don't have to be paid directly either. The company Mat works for gets access to sales statistics from various industry participants. Microsoft is a major one; hence Mat's livelihood indirectly depends on information they receive from Microsoft. He has a financial interest in that arrangement to continue, even if Microsoft never sends him a check in the mail.

There's that too indeed.
