Never miss an opportunity to shit on FF, even if it is unwarranted or doesn’t make any sense.
Rebirth is one of better playing 30fps games recently.
That game input lag and deadzones are better than some 60fps games.
The only problem is lack of camera motion blur but at least it has great per object motion blur.
I played 70 hours in 30fps.
Took me 1 short evening to get used to 30 since most games are 60fps recently.

I will remember how bad the game ended. Not how it ran lol

The Tweet is talking about the 60fps mode of Rebirth.
The 30fps mode is indeed pretty good.

Square Enix received a lot of bad feedback about the 60fps mode.

60fps mode was trash because Square listened to idiot customers who complained "blurry" and disabled scaling leaving us with just nearest neighbor which is crazy. It's only good for 2d pixelart games.
They enabled back bilinear scaling and it's ok now.

Back on topic. Since 30fps is a creative decision to achieve a cinematic feel, are PCs locked at 30fps, too?

PC player make their own creative decisions.

They get to decide the resolution, the frame rate, the settings, the filters, the models, they even get to decide if they are going to pay for the game or not.

It is still bad 🤷‍♂️
Since the demo nothing was really fixed… they added an option that make it a bit less blurry in the last patch (it is hard to notice btw).

Graphics whores will always focus on graphics and it's easier to sell a game on graphics than it is FPS, so in that sense I agree that 30fps will always exist.

That doesn't mean they should.
For me if 60fps mode is a PS360 Vaseline then I go for 30 fps. This is always true if the 60 fps mode is very unstable and always drops toid 40s.

Not every developer is as good as Blupoint. Demon's Souls 1440p mode looked exactly the same as the native 4k image. The 60 fps mode was like a magical upgrade that compromised nothing.
