And how do you know those weibo fake news spread ended up without any repercussions?

The law in China is very harsh...do you know you can get death penalty if they found out youre guilty for corruption in china...
I totally knows China censorship actual journalists jobs.
Not because fake or real news... but due they posting something agaisnt what the government believes.

That doesn't means that weibo or twitter random posts get death penalty.

The point is the story is weak... bad... doesn't hold up.
But when you ask proof you come with "Chineses can't lie" lol

Plus call everybody that doesn't believe in the story as Sweet Baby Inch/DEI sympathizer... ohhhh where we see that? Yes... exactly what Chinese's government do with journalists there (journalists needs to believe in everything the government says).

I don't even read CNN lol
So I'm not even sure what you are saying here.

A story to be true needs to have facts that make it true.
For now this story looks, smell and hear like fake.

Yeap... everybody does it... I talk with Chinese playing games that they were supposed to not play (or have access to it... hell not even know it exists) :D

BTW Twitter doesn't work in China without VPN.
And we are here talking about a Chinese guy posting on Twitter.
I assume the Twitter phone app doesn't work without VPN. But in the same way I normally use a VPN and normally read twitter from my PC's web browser, they can do the same.

In fact, I frequently see the Youtube channel of a Spanish guy who lives there, posts I'd say daily, also uses Twitter frequently and all his content is basically about trips inside the country, the Chinese culture/history/point of view in some things, etc.

Normally tries to avoid the political stuff, and when he comments stuff is normally pro-China and talks well about them (or at least explains their point of view) but often also critizes the bad things he doesn't like of their politics or the country, and has no problems about explaining the issues he finds and the limits he has.

But regarding censorship, he seems more worried about Google demonetizing his videos because of talking about certain topics (like any western youtube) than the Chinese censorship, which he explains.

Edit: I went to check his channel and these are the titles of his most recent videos excluding travel and family videos:
  • Chinese exam to access the University: do you go to jail if you cheat?
  • The "miraculous" -he includes the quotes- Chinese genomic therapy: are they playing to be god?
  • No foreigners allowed? Why the cheap Chinese hotels reject us?
  • Who emigrates to China? Is the inmigration a problem or a solution for China?
  • Weed in the street? Is marihuana prohibited or promoted in China?
  • China and parental control: screen adiction?
  • Denge in China: What's China plotting with its mosquito farm?
He has 800K subs on Youtube, so I assume the goverment should be aware of him.

Thanks for the translation...

It is felt more like a compliance story made up by some extremist.
And before people says I'm being biased with eastern people... well the whole politics in US is made up by fake conspiracies stories shared by extremists (left or right both sides do the same).
Yes, sounds to me that SweetBaby only offered their services ($7M+ initial figure is nonensical and hard to believe it's real) to them and the studio rejected it.

And then this user, clearly an anti woke propaganda person, exaggerated it (but apparently doesn't mention "extorsion").

We also have to understand that the woke stuff is a thing only mostly in America, Europe and a few countries more culturally colonized by the US/UK empire (which represent a small portion of the global population).

Mostly rest of the world rejects the woke stuff, don't get it and see it as something they laugh at, and they see it as a sign of how the western empire is morally and culturally collapsing.

Ohhhh that is true... western big tech really have a push to "denigrate" (not sure if that the right word) what come from Chineses.

That actually put a new view in my mind of the story.
If that is the case then I can really believe it.

A company reaching another company to offer their services and being rejected.
After that the 1st company fans starting to send death threads to the 2nd company is not too far fetched.

But that is totally different from what the story said which they were trying to "extort" the Black Myth: Wukong's developers lol
Offering a service is not extort.

To be fair twitter warriors (and ERA users, etc) will go mad what any company that don't do diversity enough for their tasters no matter if the SweetBaby offered their services or not.

Mark is the last person alive you should be trusting your game news with. Political opinions put aside, he's a grifter loser who's solely out for himself. That's why he keeps reminding people to "subscribe" to him over and over. He's interested solely in generating controversy.

The anti china sentiment in this place is still strong to the point they rather side with sweet baby inch than that developer because theyre from china

Wake up people chinese and asia market are huge

So far SBI only had their grip on american and western europe developer

$ 7 million is peanuts to the global presence they can get in the future if they can get their grip on more eastern china, korean, japanese developer like tencent, square enix, capcom etc

Also Pirat Nation isn't even chinese, we aren't anti-China. We're anti-bullshit.

Twitter's full of retards who will hop and grift onto anything if it helps in their culture war against LGBTQIADEI whatever-else. Even if the instance doesn't make logical sense (such as in this case).

You're using the wrong people as a barometer.
Why dont you check the other side

IGN confirmed now to be infiltrated ( have Sweet Baby Inch agent) and has been attacking the Black Myth Wukong dev i wonder why

PirateSoftware is a big sack of c**p! Read just a few of his tweets, and he sounds like a spoiled BRAT.
Anyways, I wouldn't trust either side of this "argument".

Just ignore all the noise/drama, and watch previews. If it looks good to you, buy it.
If not, don't...
Oh, and let all social media burn ;)

What they are describing sounds an awful lot like an extorsion racket.
While that sort of thing definitely exists (and in all sorts of industries), I would like to see some definitive proof.

Brother, IGN have BEEN compromised way before SBI with their shitty game reviews and pro-Xbox biases for years. I didn't have to wait until SBI to notice IGN were suspect; even them buying up most of the other big games media outlets (a way bigger issue than this stuff IMHO) should've made that obvious. NX Gamer is the only redeeming thing about IGN and I hope he can go independent again.

But otherwise, yes @Yeona is right; Grummz is just a culture war grifter obsessed with what generates him money. I also just think he's a super-disgruntled ex-AAA game dev from Blizzard taking his anger out against the industry and using stuff like SBI is a convenient way to do it. I dislike groups like SBI but I'm also not very fond of anti-woke grifters/culture vultures either.

Grummz is everything that is wrong with a certain subset of gamers. I will literally side eye anyone who co-signs with him and assume you are simply a misogynist and a bigot.

The guy is nothing but a Grift and I dunno why part of the community is building up. TOXIC AF
