SIE really need to work on long-term game preservation for PlayStation. At the very least, add a feature so PS users can set up private servers to play these games once they're delisted and the main servers get shut down.
With how they've been porting games to PC this gen, it has really...
Production is a part of co-development. Providing technical support (which is part of what Japan Studio did) is part of co-development.
Maybe if you read deeper into Japan Studio's involvement vs. reading a title credit and stopping there, you'd know a bit more.
Mibu is one of those posters...
That's false: Bloodborne was co-developed between From Software and Japan Studio.
You know....the Japan Studio that was founded by SIE (Sony) decades ago? And that SIE (Sony) shut down near the start of this gen (shifting remaining members to Team Asobi)? Yeah....
Won't say it's completely awful like @anonpuffs feels, but it's not a great filter. CRTs gave a natural slight spherical curve at the corners of the image, and soft bloom effect. This filter lacks both.
Granted, really good CRT filters can be hard to get right, but I'd think a major games...
You're just using confirmation bias to support a POV you expressed in the immediate prior post:
When @Evilms literally said this right above even that:
(emphasis mine)
Meaning we don't know the splits post-2022, and the game being part of PS+ for a bit (or even prolonged; I know it was in...
Platform revenue splits would be even more useful here; also wondering why PS4 sales aren't tracked beyond February 2022. It's not like the game suddenly stopped selling on PS4/PS5 unless SIE delisted it from PS Store around that time (which'd of been stupid)?
So assuming this rumor's true, it has any substance to it, and if it goes anywhere...this could be a great partnership for both parties.
>ADAPTATIONS: Apple funding live-action adaptations of SIE games & IP, either exclusively or first available on Apple+. Others (i.e anime adaptations) Apple+...
I did see ONE streamer (modest size) who played it on PS5 but that's b/c they were sent a code by SIE to do so. Otherwise yeah, everyone streaming that I've come across has been playing it on Steam.
The fact Twitch (and I'm assuming other?) ads prominently mention the PC version and barely...
Just a curiosity of a look...The Casting of Frank Stone, also from Supermassive Games and in the same genre as Until Dawn, had a peak CCU of 6K around its debut earlier this month. That's at least 250% above Until Dawn's. It was only $10 less than Until Dawn remake at launch.
Oh, and it also...
How is it overpriced? And compared to what?
Also no one asked for games like Fall Guys, Among Us, Only Up etc. but they were still made, got released, and found big audiences. A game like Until Dawn, you'd think would be able to find a sizable audience on a place like Steam.
But when you...
It's the lack of filters. Old CRTs did a great trick in blending pixel edges due to how they worked & being low resolution.
When a lot of these older 2D games get upscaled for 1080p/4K resolutions and presented "clean" with no filters, the graphics can look off because the artists likely...
Seen a few TV adverts for it...none of them mention PlayStation. Not even Steam.
This game will be lucky if it charts in the Top 10 for debut month. All of the Western advertising (traditional and otherwise) has only mentioned Xbox and Game Pass. If only Xbox weren't declining in America...
I saw an ad for the game on Twitch that prominently mentioned the PC version but barely mentioned the PS5 version until near the end. It's clear which platform they're focusing the game's sales on and it's not PS5.
Also 100% calling it that Until Dawn 2, a non-GAAS, 1P AAA-style...
Looks like a Day 1 PS5/PC release given both platforms are listed in the leak simultaneously. Only other time that happens is for ports of games that were already on PS5/PS4 but had planned PC ports.
There's a difference between what Shawn was doing, and what SIE quickly shifted to doing after Shawn left.
Also can't stress enough; Shawn's exit was rather abrupt. There were probably plans SIE had that he did not agree with. For example, porting almost all of their newer games to PC only...
Oh look at that, a remake that coincidentially was developed for PS5 and PC at the same time. And it's a technical disaster.
I wonder what was the new factor this time, versus last gen with remakes like SoTC?
Hmmm...HMMMMM.....can anyone bother to take a guess? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Jeez you're getting so mad replying; guess the truth must be a bit irritating for you to hear, huh?
Nothing you said in this response disproved anything either of my posts were speaking about, BTW. So now you've missed the point twice. Oh and remind me when their recent push is successful...
Yeah Sony/SIE'd be smarter doing so co-developed exclusivity with Level 5 and the Granblue Fantasy folks. Build up new JRPG IPs with new teams that don't have the baggage of FF and SE.
I mean FF's name still means a lot, clearly. But the franchise has an identity & consistency problem that SE...
You're asking for a Sony/SIE that aren't complacent in a duopoly with Microsoft. That PlayStation no longer exists.
Granted I don't think SE meeting with MS people is "backstabbing" per se; the optics that MS want to sell with it and how it's peddled by Western games media & influencers to...
