IGN has heard from multiple knowledgeable sources that Xbox, Sony, and Nintendo won't be part of E3 2023 or have a presence on the Los Angeles Convention Center showfloor.

This information comes on the heels of Xbox's announcement last week that it would be returning to Los Angeles for its annual summer showcase while declining to confirm whether it would be part of the show itself.

Xbox Nintendo and Sony? Why not Microsoft Nintendo and Sony? Or Xbox Nintendo and Playstation?

It's a shame. E3 was damn fun up until Kinect. What a train wreck it became after that. "Fist bump!" *dies of cringe*

Back then there were iconic figures like Reggie Fils Aimé, Shawn Layden etc. These people had charisma, they attracted crowds.

The problem is, it seems they left E3 and don't want to give us anything but these online presentations.....

The old fan service and interaction was really energizing for the fans and there just seems to be an overall decline in gaming..... with less exclusive games, no live events and more focus on profits and negative elements like consolidation than ever..... it's become more of a corporate battle than anything and fans of corporate entities watching endless streams of content from people like Hoeg Law...cause they are so invested in the business of gamign and not the fun of gaming.

The fun is being pushed down and away day by day.

Not the biggest fan of Keighley but he does get more viewers than E3 would and publishers simply aren't going to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars just for a small section on the floor when they can just have a digital direct type showcase instead.

Big sad for the reports who won't be there in person but it means little to us consumers. A big Nintendo direct taking place at the same time as the show is the same as an E3 presentation, as far as I am concerned. Shame about losing ever more of the pageantry though, I suppose.

What fan interaction? Fans weren't even let in until two or three E3s ago. And as to "all about the business", you must not remember what E3 was like in its true golden age (pre-2006 or so.) Multiple slides in presentations just talking about market growth. In the 90s the conference was a serious way to sell to retailers and thus significant time was dedicated to describing the marketing and media campaigns and why you should buy in. I watched Nintendo's 99(?) conference a month or two ago and its night and day how much more business was in the presentations back then as compared to now.

It's getting to the point where his show feels like a better E3 than the actual E3. Dude just needs better announcements for the show, though last time had some decent stuff in it.
