Its amazing the double standards that are allowed to happen when its xbox. Case in point that regulator who said "my playstation," they literally harassed stalked, and im sure threatened him. For all the complaints about toxic fandoms its amazing how these xbox zealots get a pass.

I posted news about Volition being folded into Gearbox entertainment by Embracer...

I just wanted to say that Volition was one of my favorite developers back when they used to make Red Faction 1 & 2. I really loved the mix of gunplay and environmental destruction.

So it's a sad day for me to see them lose their identity and basically become a support team and this is the danger of consolidation in a time where game development takes so much human resources to reach the current standard, especially at a AAA level.

I can see a lot of studios being folded into others or being closed completely or changed into mobile games or live service studios instead of AAA in the years following this mass consolidation in the industry and that will be a bitter pill.

This literally has nothing to do with consolidation. Embracer simply didn't give Volition the budget needed to make a really good game with Saints Row and when you add in the horrible story, writing and characters, it becomes a disaster. And requiring certain activities to be completed in order to progress the main story didn't help.

Oh, I see...well I had no idea the game was that badly designed TBH.

But at the same time if it was another studio and because of consolidation a studio didnt get the budget they needed, I wouldn't be too happy about it...for example. But it is abstract at the moment.

Yeah but publishers are going to do what's in their best interests, not ours. All you can hope for is maybe, they become better under Gearbox.

Hi all, I see that we have a lot of threads discussing this topic, and think we should probably focus in having everything consolidated under one thread. I think ad-hoc threads as news come to light are ok, but they should eventually be merged here if our kind staff @BloodMod @TubzGaming agree...
