Arrowhead Community Boss Says Helldivers 2 On Xbox Requires Sony & Phil Spencer To ‘Duke It Out’

MLB is on Xbox because of MLB. But other than this exception, PS Studios games never are released on Xbox. I think there's 0% chances for this to happen.

Xbox's userbase is pretty small and games there sell like shit. So I think there's no reason for Sony to waste time on this port, and they should invest that time and budget instead in to continue improving the game with more cool new features and content.

Spencer maybe would kill to have Helldivers 2 on Xbox, but Hermen wouldn't allow it.

Why not? The existence of MLB, Bungie and most importantly LEGO Horizon show that Sony isn't entirely against the idea of being a third party publisher.
And before you try to make excuses WWND What Would Nintendo Do? This is what they would do.
PC? LOL
Other consoles? LMAO
It really is just that simple.

What BillyZ doesn't do:

Back up his blabber with cold hard cash.

$300 now in my pocket, $600 back if Sony goes third party day and date with all their titles.

Nintendo:
Mobile? Yes sir, Mr android sir!

I didn't say they would. You insist Sony is going day and date.

1000 NOW. $10000 IF THEY GO DAY AND DATE

1000% ROI if you have any spine
So let me understand what do you think Sony will do? If you thought that they would stop at 2 year old ports you're already wrong it's been lowered to just one year now.

My position is simple: it's the opposite of yours. Sony will not go day and date with all their new releases. If they do, you get a massive return on your investment.

Be careful, I wouldn't be so sure anymore. They are deadset in letting us know they don't care about bringing people to their ecosystem.

It's time to listen to what they are telling us.

There's no duking it out. They don't own the IP, Sony does. If the devs want the game on Xbox so badly then they should have never let Sony own the IP. These dudes need to stop yapping about this.

  • It's good for the developer - More revenue from potentially 30 million players, a larger player base also means you get more people talking about the game, which means more active users, which draws more people into playing the game
  • It's good for gamers - As I mentioned, more people playing the game. It also means that the developer has more resources to pour into the game.
  • It's good for Microsoft - More revenue
  • It's good for Sony - More revenue
It's only bad for Sony fanboys who think that there is prestige in having something being exclusive. Whether they're playing it or not.

I'll put one caveat on this in that if Sony starts going heavy with PlayStation centric expansions, like tie ins to Killzone, they're probably not going to want those things on Xbox, so this might create a two-tiered system or an IP problem. At the end of the day, I'd be surprised to see it happen.

But eventually you'll see Helldivers (probably Helldivers 3) on mobile, PC, and console. You can already see they're trying to bring in Unreal in the future, whether they move Helldivers 2 to Unreal or make Helldivers 3 on Unreal.

All the more reason for BillyZ to bet money.
No it's isn't, your bet still sucks. I won't send you money in advance with no guarantee that you won't run away never to be seen again. I'm willing to pay you in 2028 if Sony fails to go day and date by then. Or earlier of course if against all odds they're gonna quit porting games to PC.
Will you pay me if Sony goes day and date before 2028?

Eh, Id tell them to stfu and do there work.

I’m ok with Sony taking the Helldivers IP to a more competent developer.

Same. Keep the IP and tell Arrowhead to go make games for Xbox

Honestly speaking I really don’t mind.

GaaS games should be on as many platforms as possible for success.

It’s the single player games which need to remain exclusive to PlayStation.

Current leadership at Sony would be the ones stupid enough to allow this. They don’t have the drive to market real exclusives and make PS they only place you can play their games.

That Arrowhead person should not be entertaining a Sony funded and published game on Xbox.
