Not bad, congrats to the team, though don't Sony titles usually get way more than this?
It's above par compared to non-Nintendo 3D platformers or compared to previous internally developed Japan Studio games.
It has been made by small team, pretty likely already is profitable.
Kinda miffed this isn't doing as well as things like God of War and Horizon
Kids friendly 3D platformers, particularly the very well reviewed ones, normally have legs and continue selling during a long period of time, particularly in the Christmas quarters.
Astro Bot pretty likely will end selling somewhere between 5-10M, which is great for this kind of game.
It's a small game, not a huge budget mainstream blockbuster like GoW, Spider-Man or Horizon. Obviously won't sell >20M units.
Seems they are happy with it since it's achieving their goals, which was to grow their 1st party audience and catalog in the kids/family games submarket.
I would not expect an Astro Bot 2 (3?)
It's on track to be the best selling internally developed Japan Studio game, and not sure if it's also the best reviewed one too (if not it should be close).
Of course they will make more Astro Bot games.
