Not bad, congrats to the team, though don't Sony titles usually get way more than this? Kinda miffed this isn't doing as well as things like God of War and Horizon

Around 2.5% of the install base. This is The Order: 1886 numbers.

Pretty abysmal as far as Sony exclusives go.

They do.

And, it's no surprise it's not doing as well as established franchises like GoW, etc. This is a game that people got for free with their PS5s, so I would understand the reluctance to pony up $60 for more of the same.

I would not expect an Astro Bot 2 (3?)

I do expect one. The game didn't cost anywhere near as much to make as Sony's AAA titles.

And we're talking about a franchise that started as a DualShock 4 tech demo. The fact that it even got a full blown game which managed to sell 1.5 million in just a couple of months is great.

Don't know where you got your data, but everything I saw had The Order ~2M sold.

The Order 1886 has 1.4 million digital downloads alone... I dunno where you are getting that outdated 2 million figure from but the game never stopped selling after 2015

It's above par compared to non-Nintendo 3D platformers or compared to previous internally developed Japan Studio games.

It has been made by small team, pretty likely already is profitable.

Kinda miffed this isn't doing as well as things like God of War and Horizon

Kids friendly 3D platformers, particularly the very well reviewed ones, normally have legs and continue selling during a long period of time, particularly in the Christmas quarters.

Astro Bot pretty likely will end selling somewhere between 5-10M, which is great for this kind of game.

It's a small game, not a huge budget mainstream blockbuster like GoW, Spider-Man or Horizon. Obviously won't sell >20M units.

Seems they are happy with it since it's achieving their goals, which was to grow their 1st party audience and catalog in the kids/family games submarket.

I would not expect an Astro Bot 2 (3?)
It's on track to be the best selling internally developed Japan Studio game, and not sure if it's also the best reviewed one too (if not it should be close).

Of course they will make more Astro Bot games.

Small Team + Low Cost (compared to most games these days) id say its pretty good and there will be a boost around Christmas for gifts also
