3 years to make since the pack in...which generated 0 dollars. Rescue Mission was the last time Asobi made any money.

So 6 years development.

The problem with seeing teams based on projects is that it is quite easy to ignore the reality that many of these employees work on multiple projects.

Many of the people who worked on Astro Bot also worked on Demon's Souls. Some are new employees hired specifically for the Astro Bot game and some are simply contractors.

The idea that you're attempting to suggest that this game owes its development to Astro's Playroom is at best misleading. It also ignores the fact that Astro's playroom itself is just an amalgamation of tech demos and while it didn't generate revenue it certainly did the job of a tech demo showing consumers and developers how the dualsense could be used. The dualsense is a major contributor to the success of the PS5 in differentiating it from the XSX early.

This is why I said they should release a PS4 version sans the Dualsense elements.

It also makes sense to port it to PC and maybe even Switch.

A game this good could make a studio out of Asobi if given the opportunity. Being locked to 65 million potential consumers isn't a great opportunity.
Hmm I mean they could... But dunno if they would release it on the PS4 as well. But I think this game and maybe some other games that are also good from Asobi will indeed make them an amazing studio! (y)

Astro Bot hit 1.5 million in 9 weeks, while Xenoblade Chronicles 3 took 8 months to get to 1.86 million. But of course, the Nintendo fanbase will still pretend it's a success.

Yeah, let's compare the biggest platformer in gaming history to Astrobot.
Yes. Astro Bot outsold
Sonic
Bubsy
Blinx The Time Sweeper
Gex the Gecko
Croc
and guess what? No one gives a fuck. What we all wanted to know was how it did against Mario and now we know.

Helldivers 2 sold 12 million in 12 weeks and BillyZ still won't give me my money

We all knew how it'd go against Mario. Let's compare it to GTA V while we're at it.

Why do you speak for all?

I didn't want to know how it did against Mario in sales. It is irrelevant. We aren't bean counters, chatgtps can count those.

I just know, Astro Bot cleans the floor with the mario.

If it won GOTY or at least become one of the contender it will push the number much higher

Here's hoping the game sells 10x as much through its lifetime and brings many similar quality sequels.

The game was awesome and I'm voting for it to get GOTY at TGA.

I see the biggest Microsoft astroturfers here, @BillyZ and @Men_in_Boxes are on some hardcore copium. Love it.
Nobody cares about a game that can only sell 1.5 million copies after over 2 months on the market. The game is irrelevant.

What fascinates me is observing how the corporations have turned so many into message board zombies...fighting some imaginary fight that doesn't impact anyone lol

Reading @Men_in_Boxes posts is like listening to flat earthers blab about how you'll fall off the map if you sail too far east. Archaic, disproven, neandrathalic thinking reminiscent of corpo-speak back in the early 2000s when multiplayer would rule the world and repackaged for an attention-deprived 'modern' audience.
