That’s poor. Bloodborne sold 7million and is considered not worth investing into further

If Astro Bot is poor then Bloodborne is worse.

You are comparing lifetime sales to 9 weeks.

It took Bloodborne 6 months to sell 2 million units.

Astro Bot - 1.5 million in 9 weeks.
Bloodborne - 2 million in 6 months.

The budgets are not the same either. Astro Bot was a much cheaper game to produce.

1.5M in nine weeks is not bad at all for a platformer like this one, IMO. There will be a sales tail on this game, and they'll also pick up some healthy sales down the line when it ports to PC and other systems.
Look at the damage Sony did to PlayStation. Now, we have trolls registering in this forum for port begging.
In their minds, Sony is just another 3rd party who's holding their product potential by being exclusive to PlayStation

But , I am sure development of Bloodborne in 2013-2015 was much cheaper than Astro bot. So, yes, Sony did not treate it fairly

Bloodborne has been out for almost a decade. It took the game longer to sell the same amount of copies as Astrobot.

All agenda driven. Japan studios and all that nonsense.

Slate Astro Bot sales then use a game which sold worse in the same timeframe to shit on Sony.

As though they know better than Sony regarding their financials.

I'm not sure I'd personally classify it as begging, when they seem to have a conscious business plan to port games within 1-2 years of release. I'd literally never played a Sony game in my life until they started releasing games cross-platform.

While I would like to keep playing their games under their current strategy, if they go back to permament exclusivity, that's fine too.

I saw a metric that highlights how much people loved the game: 20%+ of the users got the platinum of the base game.

For any game, 20% already is great for completing the game itself. Having 20% getting the platinum is awesome news. Means that people loved it, so pretty likely would buy DLC or a sequel and will spread the word.

Anyone try helium heights?
Me, but like in the rest of the levels there's someone called Bryank in my leaderboard who gets faster times than me xDD

I only complete each level a few times, maybe maximum half a dozen times or so.

It has been cool to get Nariko from Heavenly Sword and to complete the Helldivers set.

I wonder what they will include next week, I assume Rayman and AC. I also wonder if they'll end the weekly free dlc content next week or if they will continue.

I think it's very cool to get some post launch free content every week, but they can't do this forever because the game doesn't have IAP/paid dlc to fund it. I assume they'll end this batch of free DLC and might include a separate batch of paid DLC (maybe a smaller 2nd campaign and more time attack levels) or will move on to make a sequel.

That’s poor. Bloodborne sold 7million and is considered not worth investing into further
Nobody at Sony said Bloodborne isn't worth investing into further. They might be working on a sequel and remake plus apparently are also working in a movie.

There's only a quote from Miyazaki saying he doesn't see the point of releasing a remaster now, that he prefers to do like in Demon's Souls and keep two generations of difference to include a more meaningful improvement.

And well, Bloodborne didn't sell 7 millions in 2 months. It sold 1 million in around a week or two, and achieved 2M on around half a year. So Astro Bot is selling at a similar pace or faster and is on track or selling around 5-10M units, maybe even more considering these kid friendly 3d platformers normally sell more in Christmas season and normally are evergreen, have longer legs than other genres.

Remember guys. Asobi is 60 employees and the game was made in under 4 years, using assets from their previous titles. It also was marketed for only 4 months. 1.5 million is a good number that's likely already turned a profit, and we will likely see further investment into their studio as the game sells for the next few years,

Not everything has to be a 10+ million breakout.

Does Sony own FROM? They could have but they fumbled. FROM also had obligations to another big publisher at the time.

Bloodborne started development after Dark Souls in 2011 and was made in tandem with Dark Souls II. So this is incorrect. Part of what made Bloodborne so hype is because that was the project Miyazaki was on, not Dark Souls II. So in a lot of ways Bloodborne was the next spiritual successor to Dark Souls and Demon Souls.

Bloodborne is nearing a decade old. using it as a benchmark is outdated anyway, I honestly think it's a bigger meme within PC crowds than it is an actual game people enjoy. Astro Bot is the best selling platform game outside of Mario since Rayman Legends. It is doing fine.

First of sll, I was just talking about a time period. I didn't need to give accurate date of when development of Bloodborne started. Also, whatever BS you believe in that developers are Octopus with 1000 arms and developing at the same is up to you. Now you will provide me with these articles where developers claims they started in 2011 when the game was probably just pencil drawing on A4 paper.
Secondly, Bloodborne selling 500k at that time in 2015 is still good ( maybe better ) when compared to Astrobot selling 1.5 million.
Also Bloodborne sold to a much smaller install base.
Not sure what you mean about Bloodborne being a meme, and I really don't know why people keep bringing Gabe's sluts to every thread.
