Wow he has genuinely lost it. 20m players? With 270k CCUs on Steam? He's having a copium overdose guys.
He said that it shouldn't be reviewing well on ps5 because of bad performance sharing screenshots of dips to 14fps or something & that if it was released on Xbox in the same state it would be getting crucified for it 🤣

The PS fanbase is diverse with players of all ages and backgrounds.

For example, I was gaming on PC long before I ever did on Playstation. I was there when the original Baldur's Gate innovated by not being just turn based. And when Blizzard became famous by basically copying the Dune 2 from Westwood Studios formula. And during the FMV craze. And at the height of the Amiga. And Speccy.

I didn't "suddenly become a CRPG connoisseur", you simpleton. You are so used to corporate drones posing as console gamers, let alone PC gamers, that your best way to cope is childish projection.

Careful with assuming and generalizing fanbases.

I was editing autoexec.bat files before you were born, you hypocrite.
PS fanbase became CRPG connoisseurs all of a sudden! They were there since the Black isle days!
Respect your elders!

It’s silly, the game works perfectly fine with a controller, as do DoS1, 2 and both PoE games.
This is like saying assassins creed is a console game because it works much better with a controller than m&kb. It makes no sense. It’s a game.
....

You don't think different input devices lend themselves better to certain types of games?

I mean ... you know that PC guys that play FPS with keyboard and mouse whoop up on controller players when there is no auto aim enabled right?

Do you think an RTS would control as well with a controller vs keyboard and mouse?

It's obvious why a mouse is a better input device than a keyboard for some games. It's a positional input device, and a joystick is more of a "velocity" based one. So, given how how hand eye coordination works, if you're trying to move your pointer to X position quickly, it's far easier to do by moving your input device Y distance. On the contrary, holding a directional stick to apply velocity to your pointer and letting go at exactly the right moment is far more difficult to do accurately. Just to demonstrate how absurd this idea is, how would you like to work on your computer using your game controller? That includes navigating, opening menus, working with files etc. It would be a nightmare. I don't even like PC gaming at all, but this is such a self evident fact I'm surprised anyone is still arguing a controller works as well for that kind of game. It doesn't.

Then you have a keyboard with dozens of keys you can map actions to vs a controller which ... doesn't have that many. So in a complicated game like BG3, you're better off with the more accurate pointer, and the greater number of input triggers.

This is really basic stuff, and not silly at all. Input types matter in game design, and how easy it is to play said game.

Bruh autoexec.bat and config.sys editing was the shit. Better make sure your himem is set so your floppy disk game can actually load lmao
I had to do that himem crap to get X-wing to work on my dads 486 back in the day. Good stuff.

Now there is a game that sucked with a mouse, but I still did it. Wish I had a flight stick back in the day.

I think a game is a game and, unless is developed specifically for a platform, it doesn’t belong to other platforms. BG3 is, from ground up, a multiplat game, so, no, it isn’t a “PC game”, it’s multiplat game.

Well it would certainly work better with a keyboard and mouse. These kinds of games are just far easier to play with that setup. I'm guessing that's what he means.
I can see how it'll be easier to navigate with mouse + keyboard, controller does feel a bit clunky when in turn based mode. The realtime mode feels pretty intuitive, responds quite well.
