Same here. I ain't grow up on turn-based games and can't get into them no matter how hard I try.Damn I wish it wasnt turned based and even with tht I'm tempted to buy and join the hype! But nah I already got burned with BOTW, Red Dead 2, etc due to hype.
I grew up on them but they just really bore me and kills immersion for me but I've played some solid ones like Cosmic Fantasy in my youth but tht was more of the story immersing me, loving the anime and less of the combat keeping me glued.Same here. I enjoy action and turn based rpgs alike, it’s a no brainer to me.It’s funny, I got onto Final Fantasy 16 for not being turn-based, but am getting onto this one *for* being turn-based, lol. It’s just that I’m used to playing this kind of top-down game as a Gauntlet-style game or Action RPG.
Tempted though. I really love games that throw you into the story like this and genuinely give you the feeling of meaningfully choosing your way.
This isn’t a traditional turn based game, you have much more freedom. I was struggling with a boss for hours trying to play the game like it was Final Fantasy 8. I randomly decided to just lure her to an edge and push her off and it actually worked. There’s a ton of different combos you can do with spells/abilities and infinite different ways to approach an encounter. I think you should give it a try one day on a sale, you might be surprisedDamn I wish it wasnt turned based and even with tht I'm tempted to buy and join the hype! I absolutely adore the idea of someone who hates turns so much, they carry that philosophy over into real life, lmao. All this "turn based" whining.
Do you guys complain when you have to take turns in real life, such as at stop signs? Does someone challenge you to a game of chess and you respond "I ain't doing' nuthin that requires takin' them turns!"
Good grief man.

Once you get into it it's very tactical and funDamn I wish it wasnt turned based and even with tht I'm tempted to buy and join the hype! But nah I already got burned with BOTW, Red Dead 2, etc due to hype.
Hmmmm I'll get it later on when it's on sale.Once you get into it it's very tactical and fun
Feels like fights take forever though. I am sure it's much quicker with MKB
Yeah, this is kind of a factor too. I don’t mean to be wishy-washy or annoying to anyone hyped, lol, but I definitely need a window to sit down and commit myself to a game this long, absolutely. The nature of the combat is a bit of turn off. I’ve enjoyed plenty similar to it but it’s very time consuming. Knowing that I could easily see my game time bloating to 300+ hours and take years to personally complete … I can wait for a sale to pick it up. But i gotta admit it’s been hard to resist both this and Armored Core but I still got a heavy backlog to work on.
0:100Anybody wants to guess sales rate PC: PS for Baldur Gates III?
My guess is 60:40
Honestly, a game with the scope of BG III is best played in spurts, like one chapter at a time, or it’ll burn you out long before you reach the end.Yeah, this is kind of a factor too. Depends tbh, with m+kb a single misclick can mean a party wipe and a reload lol. Not the first time i clicked a fireball and it clipped some explosives which instagibbed my front lineOnce you get into it it's very tactical and fun
