All this "turn based" whining.

Do you guys complain when you have to take turns in real life, such as at stop signs? Does someone challenge you to a game of chess and you respond "I ain't doing' nuthin that requires takin' them turns!"

Good grief man.
I know, right? It's not like the predecessors in the same series didn't have a unique combat system that presented players with a blend between turn based and realtime combat.

Expecting a core aspect of a series to carry over between installments... the entitlement!

Speaking totally as a newbie here, faced with a new game to buy. I’ve no intention of changing your series, and know what it’s like when people start coming into a recently popular fandom and demanding things.

BG should remain what it is. I’m just commenting on a slight sticking point for me, and I may just very well get over it and play it anyway.

Ppl going to like wtf they like, it's as simple as that. I think we all know there's specific combat and genres for diff ppl who like different things. Let mofos give their opinions on shit, it's called discussion and opinions. What they eat doesnt Make you shit :).

Wish this were getting a physical release on PS5. I was actually just about to order it but couldn't find it on Amazon, so I searched to see if it was being released by one of those scummy companies like Limited Run Games who seem to get way too many big games that don't need the backing of Limited Run to get a physical release. Turns out only Japan is getting a physical release, and everywhere else has to buy it digitally. No physical, no buy for me.

Damn I wish it wasnt turned based and even with tht I'm tempted to buy and join the hype! But nah I already got burned with BOTW, Red Dead 2, etc due to hype.
For me I have this weird thing where I jive with a series or particular entries into a series, and sequels or genre stable mates don't entice the same.

Tried Civ V as first TBS, but never really got into earlier/later Civ games, or other fare like C&C, Man At War, despite trying them lots. Simillar with XCOM, I'm crap at surviving in that, but haven't liked any of its competitors. No sequel has outshone Batman AA or the first Life Is Strange, and often it leads me to think, do I like this genre of gaming, or just spotted-about particular games?

Yeah me too. It's funny because again I've actually enjoyed a few turn based games like Cosmic Fantasy and few others but if it's not super special it'll turn me off immediately.

Reminds of CDPR with the Witcher III - sort of all over again. "Wow look at all this money!" ....lmao.

I think the console audience will be much more critical or turned off long term on turn based combat vs something arcady as third person sword combat in Witcher III. I expect BG III to have much weaker legs as a result.

Hype is def carrying it a ton.

Also no physical is going to hamper full sales potential. Not getting a sale of out me for sure until they do.... I'm just an ant individually but on the aggregate you're still losing out 30% at least of the addressable market on PS5 and Xbox (when it releases there). If they don't release a physical version, then it's straight to wishlist for bargain bin buy.

Youre gona missing out alot of amazing game with that attitude some of the best rpg are turn based...final fantasy, divinity original sin, path of exile, pillars of eternity, baldurs gate...

But if you only play first person shooter/ third person action adventure game then i can get that...

He actually thought anyone would care about him not buying the game and felt the compulsion to post about it.

Turn-based is probably too hard for him to grasp, he needs more Fortnite.
