Nobody will ever give Sony any credit for this. They only remember them to curse them when they do the same every other scumbag company already did before.

When MS, Valve, Activision, EA, Ubisoft, Take Two and Epic abuse you, it's ok. But fuck Sony.

I leave it to you as an exercise to figure what is the difference between Sony and the other companies.

If you still think that's a coincidence, then consider why so many people feel entitled to pirate Switch games.
PC players have a point, fuck Sony. If they want to turn PlayStation into Xbox then they will end up in the same place but with no access to MS money to bail them.

I just read elsewhere that this wasn't actually Bungie, instead was a fan team that ported it to Windows years ago after Bungie released it as freeware. All Bungie had to do was write a tweet.

You all are fools for complaining about this.

Its literally the group mentioned in the press release. Aleph One is a community group, they did all the work, all Bungie had to do was write a tweet about it.

I answered question 2, learn how to read before coming at me with that shit. Aleph One is the fan team.

Your orher two questions are that is Bungie and Sony. NOT Playstation, Sony. They are an independently operated part of Sony who's job is to make money for Sony by running their live service games anywhere possible, just as Lancresse, under Sony Music Group, also releases their stuff anywhere they can. As part of that they've openly let their fan community make a free Windows port of the original Marathon, which has been publicly worked on since before they were even acquired.

And since it is a free fan project with no dev involvement or support, its not going to go up on any pay to play console storefronts, as that would take development kits, which are not free.

A more indepth history, for those that care, though its obvious that Kratos doesn't and would rather just yell at clouds.

Bungie made the Marathon engine open source right before Microsoft bought them, under GPL-2, then in 2005 they allowed the games themselves to be distributed for free, and since then the Aleph One team have been maintaining and modernizing the games. The Steam release is completely Aleph One, not Bungie, they just got their blessing and I guess Bungie saw fit to tweet about it.
