It just lacks challenges... stuff to unlock, you can only get gun skins by doing challenges. But nothing like how it use to be when you got kill streaks and they have you player cards/icons for that.
The DMZ mode though, that could be a good time too.

Yeah definitely feels barebones with alot of things. Companies now charge us more for games but strip them of many things so it doesn't make sense. I skipped last few COD and bought this one but I think I'm done with the series for awhile after this.

I'll always play Warzone though bcus i really like it.

For any one asking, there is :
No cross-gen progression for single player campaign or trophies. Just plat the game on PS4, loaded up the PS5 version and noticed that i have to earn all trophies over again for PS5. This was not promised by the devs, but figured i would let the trophy hunter out there know regardless.
