I had this exact same thing with a microphone on my Stinger Cloud headset which was stuck at the lowest bitrate. I fixed it using drivercleaner after uninstalling audio drivers and then used the latest from the mainboard manufacturer. Never trust legacy Windows drivers.Ah, no. I actually tried this first after deleting it. To be more specific, I does "work" but I corrupted or deleted some software controller which automatically swaps the kHZ to a lower range to support audio input.
So, even when I'm not on calls, it locks me into a bad sound quality range, reserving the audio input unnecessarily.
It's not a big deal, because all other devices like controllers and keyboards work normally, and I just swapped to headsets using Wifi connection instead.
I'm considering a 50 series upgrade potentially, so I might be swapping out all my hardware in the near future anyway.
