After all the talk about Xbox selling like crazy (even comments from Mat), I was expecting it to be higher. There's still a huge difference between PS5 and Xbox. The +48% is meaningless because it was so low last year.

Helldivers lost the number 1 spot for the year but CF25 is full price + expensive editions and the chart is by revenue.

Extremely healthy numbers for PS5 and it seems they also benefited from the EA boost. North America has really been pulling it's weight this generation for Sony, it's been fun to see the pendulum swing from Europe to North America this generation for them.

Ghost of Tsushima charting for 3 months? Who saw that coming?

Hon the Playstation Portal 💪💪💪

Delighted that others are enjoying it. The amount of game time for me has rocketed this year.

It also got me to platinum Knack & Knack 2. Hot take, we'd have more Knack games if the quality of Knack 2 was the first game.

Well the doom and gloom :D

Let's proper quote to see if come here to add more insigns.
Where was I wrong? I insuated College Football 25 was giving Xbox a huge boon, and I was right, they would've been under 200k and in 3rd place for July if not for that game.

So do PS5 and even more than Series…

Series increase: +90k units
PS5 increase: +100k units

Series was never outselling PS5…
48% seems to picture a huge boost for Series but it was lower than PS5 boost.

College Football 25 ended helping more PS5 than Series sales.

Didn't someone in another thread say that Xbox is going to win NPD this month because the console was sold out on Gamestop and Amazon? lol.
Yeah its either complete fanboyism or lack of understanding in supply chain management and not understanding suppliers do no carry anywhere similar the xbox amount they do for PS

Correct, but it helped Xbox a lot, you can tell those people are old farts who haven't gamed in a decade plus. 360 era people.

It's more accurate to say the YOY increase for both consoles were nearly the same, the difference is within 5K. PS5 also had a one week $50 price cut at the end of July which sold a lot.

Not saying without the price cut Xbox would've sold more. Just adding context.

Some new points from Mat.

Portal... around 3% of US users brought it.

BTW somebody with the LTD PS5 in US can do the maths ;)

Edit - ~650k Portals sold in US.

It's going to outsell every portable PC combined globally by the end of its life. Embarrassing for the steam deck market.

Not bad at all.

Stock was severely scarce aswell during the launch and holiday period as well as the first few months of this year.
