According to Circana's Player Engagement Tracker, on January 22nd Palworld surpassed Fortnite in US XBS DAU. On that day alone, Palworld players on XBS in the US played Palworld for more than 200 minutes, on average. Bonkers numbers.

Palworld sold about 20-50 Million copies according to Steamspy, way higher than 8 millions copies

This has only happened a handful of times. Warzone 1 &2 flip flops top spot with Fortnite for like one month out of the year and I think even halo had like a 3 day run its pvp launch week.

Seems a lot of this hype is bandwagoning/fomo cycle. High numbers are announced which makes people want to check out the game. I tried it on gamepass and it seems like a reskin of ark with pokemons instead.

It'll be interesting to see if people are still playing when the hype wears off in like 2 months.

Considering I’ve heard that Lego Fortnite is a survival game… all epic needs to do is include pet characters and fakeamon and everything will be there to make a clone for their game/platform.

Fortnite is a platform now. Some other dev can make a Fakeamon survival clone and launch it in it.

As far as survival games go… Nightingale looks fantastic. BioWare veterans for that one and it looks like big step up from the rest tbh.

Hoping more go less survival and towards open world co-op dungeon crawling, monster hunts and exploration.

Still lacking concrete timelines on the roadmap, so unless we see updates start rolling I would take it with a grain of salt.
It would not be the first time an EA game is unable to release fixes and new content in a timely manner.

Anyhow, even saying that doesn't mean much because the game is still selling a lot and will continue to do so as we get ready for a massive 2nd weekend.

It seems like cloning games is a great business model.

So many of these modern successful games are obvious clones.

Pokemon deserves it since their devs are so lazy but in general it's sad to see these type of games succeeding.
