It's a fun game. In my experince it's lacking a lot of polish on Series X version, and as a JRPG fan i gotta drop it this week.

To each their own, my mom bought me an NES because I wanted to play Super Mario Bros. Got a Super Nintendo just for Super Mario World. Bought a PS2 just for Gran Turismo 3. A lot of people bought a PS2 just for GTA3. Consoles used to be cheap though so it was easy for casuals to just pick up a console for the game they liked. Now that consoles are $500 a pop it's going to take more then 1 game for most people I guess, but even then that might not be too accurate. Recent polls have suggested most people only play 1 game at a time. If you only play 1 game at a time you will surely buy a console for just 1 game, provided that is a very good game you just gotta have.

Pokemon has games in multiple genres, just because they didn't copy one aspect doesn't mean it isn't a clone, they copied as much as they could and as close as they could do it.
It's like saying Lies of P didn't copy Bloodborne because Bloodborne doesn't say anything about Pinochio.

Pokemon might have games in multiple genres but the survival genre is not one of them. So weird. This is 100% a Pokemon experience in an open-world. The survival aspect doesn't change the whole genre. It's like crafting in BOTW.
Gamefreak could release exactly the same game without change anything and slap Pokemon on it and nobody would say "this is nothing like Pokemon".

Pal Sphere = Pokeball
So unique and so much creativity totally not like Pokemon
