they've really devalued the Yakuza IP by dumping the entire franchise onto gamepass though. I'm still seeing Yakuza 7 firesales all over amazon.com, too. the game, especially for xbox hit the bargain bin within weeks of release. I've seen it hovering at $19.99 for the disc forever now, and it doesn't ever sell out.

of course that one's not on gamepass, but when you have the first six given to you for free you kinda just expect the next one to be free too, or you consider the franchise freeware to begin with, and will never pay for future iterations.

it's also affected the value and prices of the physical copies of the games for PlayStation.

either way, its all I ever see Gamepass zealots playing. The Yakuza games are pretty much the only decent single player games on the service.
and now they're set to do it again with Persona... sigh.

Why are you going to buy it on PC for example if you can spend $1 and get a 3 months trial to beat the game? At that point if you give devs any money it should count as charity.

There is no way you can feel good about your purchase if you buy a game for $50~$70 just to see it on cheap subscription service a few months later. Old games that have already been deeply discounted is another matter.

Another thing that happens, at least to me, is that I'll never pay more than the lowest price I've seen a game going for, so when they enter on a subscription service I'll never pay more than $5 or $10 at most for them. DMC5 was on Gamepass but I didn't play it, so now I'm waiting till it cost almost nothing to get on disc.

i know, that's why it pisses me off. I have all of the games physically for PS4, and now my collection is worth less than it should be precisely because Xbox came in, threw money at the devs upfront, and now has devalued the entire franchise.

makes me worry for the next entry, especially with Nagoshi gone and RGG Studio taking some significant hits. I really wonder if Nagoshi took a check from MS, then cut and ran after he sank the franchise with the gamepass deal, and the 6-month delay for the PS5 version of 7.

it's maddening.

Sorry to be the one to ruin your plans then. I was really surprised to think that WD2 might have RT -- which, out of curiosity, makes me wonder which mainstream PC game was the first one to get RT. 🤔
Maybe you can add RT with geforce experience, I know some game can have added RT using the win+r control pannel(like Farcry5 or FFXV).

Yeah I don’t get what’s happening with GamePass. These last couple months have been loaded with AAA third party games and yet MS hasn’t snagged a single one.

I don't understand this. Why would you be mad at Microsoft for offering Sega money which they accepted in exchange to get Yakuza? Also, how much was the Yakuza collection worth before going on Xbox? Or do you mean just for yourself?

usually when a game goes to gamepass its physical disc equivalent becomes a coaster in the eyes of consumers, so all the prices go down. the games become seen as cheap and disposable. for physical collectors, this devalues their collection.

it's usually contained to Xbox but it's started to bleed over to PlayStation as well. Everyone knows these games are 'free' on Xbox so why actually pay real money for them?

There's been a noted drop in physical yakuza discs second-hand pricing. the only games that retained their value are the Japan-exclusive, still-playstation exclusive kenzan and Ishin.

just as an example. the gamepass devaluation effect ^.
I see what you mean but were you going to sell your Yakuza game collection?

EDIT: Outriders is $20 for PS4/PS5 at Best Buy. It's not about the games being devalued due to Game Pass. It's about them getting older and unless a game is rare and limited print, very few are worth anything.

I actually bought that one, and the expansion, fun game that
my friends and i have stopped at ascension level 42 and apocalypse tier 25, as big fans of outsiders we are extremely disappointed in the content they have offered. To be quite frank, i feel like we have been

The end dungeon has 3 bosses in it that all have the same skin, hardly any new mob variety, and all the rooms are exactly the same.

The an expansion to me feels like a cash grab.

The gameplay is great of course, but we are smashing through the dungeons double quick time, there is just not enough content.
