Citing four unnamed sources, David Jaffe has taken to YouTube to claim that Connie Booth has left PlayStation after 34 years.

I'm also sure that the lack of game announcements, TLOU Online being in development hell, etc, are all coincidences 🌈

Sent was promoted months ago. If Connie was let go it’s probably to do with so ps games not meeting their schedules or level of quality. Ppl cry about games not releasing but it’s her job to make sure those games release, she managed a the production pipeline. now ppl want to turn it into a conspiracy. When games like factions and who knows what else are delayed, projects like the pixel opus game are canceled and the studio shut down the person who ultimately manages those projects has to take the responsibility.

If there is a problem better deal without now before it spills over into a next year. PS is not Xbox it does not reward failure the does not let people fail upwards. Connie has done great things for PS but if they can put someone else in place who can produce better results shouldn’t they?

We don't even know the reason for her departure although I agree. If you been there 34 years and get removed it isn't for no reason, also it'll be funny if she is just moving on to a higher paying position somewhere or retiring. Jaffe is a hyperbolic fuck, I knew this would be bs.

In what other space do common ppl care about a "production manager" leaving lol for that matter hear if it smh.

Honestly, I think people are getting out while stock is the highest its ever been option wise.

I bet their pension/ bonuses for someone of her position is super good. Honestly I love all the Herman Hate.

Guy knows how to manage projects, you dont have to like the projects. But he knows how to keep people on a timeline. Though Shannon was a producer, I believe she is of the same guard as Jaffe.

And those people compared to the complexities of how games are made now, either adapt or move on. She's moving on is how im reading it.

Things are more competitive now, and I think with GAAS titles that have not produced fruit yet, i wonder if Factions on top of other titles she over saw if they didnt meet or hit targets.
So with bringing in Angie who I believe worked in the same arena has Connie, no surprise Connie at this point was on her way out.

I'm a fan of herman. He gets shit done.
The days of oldschool Playstation in how they worked internally cant happen any more because there's too much competition now from foreign companies like Tenecent, Korean studios, AA indies, F2P.

So you cant anymore be like they use to. I wonder if we here some more info on Media Molecule, which their failing would also be on Connie somewhat in terms of being productive.

Jaffe speaks highly of her because she literally was there as long as him and worked with him most of his career.

Imagine working for 34 years and deciding to retire after a great long career and your final days/moments which are meant to be happy are marred by fucking David Jaffe seeking attention on social media and overdramatizing and putting a grey shadow over your departure

I mean no one is going to work as long as Miyamoto. Guy is in his late 60's still producing/developing. But now has taken a back seat to younger gen now taking reigns developer wise.

I see this as she's getting out while everything is high? Her pension, her stock options are probably really good. She can retire if she wants at this point.
