Connie Booth Leaves PlayStation After 34 Years. Angie Smets, who worked at Guerrilla for 20 years would be taking Booth’s role.

Well, I think the fact that she's been there for 35 years MIGHT be a hint. That's retirement time.
No, Sony just loves to fire people who worked for them with great success after a very successful release.

Right before retirement, after the studio releases a very successful game, when they expect it the least! Bang, you thought you'd get a bonus? no we fire you!

Perfectly logical!

What crap? They’ve been making more money than ever.
A company making money doesn't necessarily translate into good things for the consumers. Take their GaaS focus. In rare cases a few of those games bring in a crapload of money. But those games are easily low quality, lowest common denominator shitshows.

Money should not be the only metric by which you measure success as a consumer.

Let's look at the facts. Over the last several years. Sony lost access to 2 major publishers, with over a dozen of well known IPs, including one of the biggest IPs in gaming, in terms of making money. What have they done to counter that? They bought some small, GaaS studios and Bungie another GaaS studio.

In those few years, what have they shown from those studios? CGI trailers. They had their top studio working on a GaaS, had Bungie step in and nuke it. ND went from being their top studio to struggling with GaaS instead of working on what they know best.

If you're a shareholder, Sony's doing better than ever. If you're a fan, PS has been dropping the ball more than usual.

I doubt these 2 recent departures are a coincidence. Both are tied to PS and are in charge of their games output. If Hermen leaves next, it's definitely Japan cleaning house because they're not happy with performance.

You're making too much sense, stop it.

What I want to know is... is this more of Herman "Guerrilla-fying" PlayStation Studios.

Since he came to be head of PS Studios, there has been a massive push for Horizon to be "A Thing"... with a full sequel, a vr game, DLC and PC releases.

He also bought Nixxes, which he has close links to as well as Firesprite, that were making the VR Horizon game.

So, this is him installing a Guerrilla person in a high position to continue his plans if he gets ousted or to expand on them?

No doubt my impression of him is tainted by the PC push but I have an overall bad feeling about what he's done so far...not even going into the GAAS nonsense.

Dude, we REALLY need an eye-rolling reaction for your Sony exec hateboner posts, Bryan.
